Sorry but I have to disagree with you here. I know the idea of people riding dragons is very unpopular, which I just don't understand D: I don't believe riding dragons is 'enslaving' them - I think of it more as a partnership than anything else. 'Enslaving' something is having it working under very bad conditions, which isn't the case here. And frankly the dragon could kick that human's butt any time if it didn't like being ridden :P

You should then once read the "back stories" behind these dragon riding stories and then you would see how much enslaving that really is. Simply put, if you have no more "free will" (for whatever reason and whatever degree) then it is enslaving. I've not seen a dragon riding story yet which did not require enslaving to work. But I'll leave it at that here. Friendship looks different, and hopefully I can show this sooner or later

Well ... I've read many stories where dragons are being ridden but this isn't those (tbh I don't find any enslavement in those either). I thought of the "back story" of this to be a dragon and a human that have been friends for their lives, but then times changed (like the title says) and authorities had the guy join a war or something lame like that :P and the dragon followed him because it didn't want to leave its friend. Briefly. So in a way, it IS enslavement, but for both of them. It's not some kind of world where humans rule over dragons, rather, they coexist.

But whatever. I guess I shouldn't really care if you see it as enslavement. I don't and that's enough for me. This stupid argument should probably be ended here.

I like you concept of Dragons and humans having a partnership. Have you ever read Anne McCaffrey's Dragonrider's of Pern series? Your way of thinking reminds me of that.

I personally am trying to write a book where there is some partnership between dragons and humans (or in the "backstory" there is a dragon and human who become friends and make a lifelong pact that lasts for many generations.

Do you write stories? I must say I really love your style for drawing dragons.

How long it is going to be? Like, a real BOOK-book with 300+ pages? Nice. Takes some real dedication to do that xD

Sometimes, yes. Mostly I just write backstories for my characters, but they tend to get pretty long xD But sometimes I write novel-type stories, although they never get finished haha.

they are amazing books that even go with the idea of dragon and human having a mental connection, a bond that stays with them for life. Ya I want to make my book be 300+ pages haha I have it planned out we'll see how well it works though.

haha I've been planning this book since I was in Junior high...I don't think it's going to die...the only problem is I keep adding more characters to it. Well haha i finally had enough information added to the storyline that I made a prequel.
