It looks like the guy is having a deep conversation or moment with the dog and the dog is deeply moved.

Beautiful work. I can stay looking at it and discover more, feel more... what are the looking at so intens? I feel the connection between them. Most of the attention goes to the eyes of the man, and one eye of the dog. Maybe a little more black yet in that eye of the dog and in the tip of the nose of the dog I would consider.

Fantastic shading particularly the hair and the wrinkles. This reminds me of the book 'The Giver' Well Done!

i definetly agree with your statement in the description

this is indeed a powerful picture and the applied realism is astounding! the title though should be 'Dog's Best Friend.' would like to know the whole story behind the creation of this drawing... but however, the contrast that is being created by the look in the eyes is amazing, the young and the old - one willing to to thrust towards the horizon, but at the same time willing to wait for is companion, realizing deep down that everything is finite through some unexplainable spiritual connection... thank you!
