Useless? Did you watch the Super Buu vs Mystic Gohan fight?
If anything, Gotenks is the useless one of the three. He only made a difference when Super Buu absorbed him to beat Gohan.

Mystic Gohan was amazing but he was toying around for so long then Buu beat him, that's what I was trying to say.

Messing around with the enemy for so long that he ends up losing. Because Gohan is the only one who has been guilty of doing that in DBZ
Pretty much everyone in the show becomes useless at one point or another. But he is far from being the most useless, simply because he is the strongest non fused fighter in the show.
