Most people get their children's ears pierced without their consent and yet when people do it of their own accord on another part of their face it becomes a problem.
It is perfectly fine not to like it, I don't like the look of it either so you know what? I won't get one.
I have about 7 ear piercings, no one gives a shit about them and I have people complimenting me all the time on them and yet when one of my classmates got a nose piercing everyone flipped their shit.
Also, just because the loud minority is awful, it doesn't mean that is the way everyone else is. Most men I've met in my life were awful and rude (I live in a not so great country) but that doesn't give me the right to think all men would be the same as it would he unfair towards those men.
