Description Windsor, also known as 'Bristol', is an express engine, and is known as a gentleman by some. Because of his impressive performance and sheer power, Gordon took a dislike to him because of the 1924 exchange trials. Unlike most engines on Sodor, Windsor sports a mustache. Windsor has a strong work ethic, and is sometimes well-behaved. Being a royal engine, he sometimes thinks highly of himself, but it doesn't get entirely into his smokebox. Windsor loves racing around the Island, and is more competent than his brother, King Charles II.

FACTS: He was the last of the first batch of "Castles"; built between 1923 and 1924, was once used as a royal engine during the GWR era, and is rivals with Gordon for some reason.

Rivals, eh? Maybe it's because Windsor was a royal engine on the GWR, and Gordon had once taken the queen to Sodor.

Eeyup. It could also be the fact that while Flying Scotsman was exhibited with 4073 'Caerphilly Castle' in the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley, London, the GWR claimed their 'Castle' to be more powerful than the LNER's A1's in terms of tractive effort. To prove this, 4474 'Victor Wild' challenged 4079 'Pendennis Castle' in the 1925 Exchange Trials. The LNER expected the GWR engine to have problems on Holloway Bank, out of King's Cross, but the Castle climbed the bank easily. Next, the two classes were tested against each other on the GWR main line to Plymouth. This time, 4074 'Caldicot Castle' represented the GWR instead of 4079. Victor Wild's long wheelbase proved to be unsuitable for the curves along the route. Once again, the Castle outperformed its LNER rival, which is why the A1's hate the Castles so much.

Wow! And I thought Gordon and Duck got into big arguments. I wonder what it'd be like for Windsor and Gordon...
