hi yall
i was bored recently and decided to redesign my mayor holiday design
ive drawn her before, but its been awhile and i wanted to try to draw her now in my new style
i call this a design in the title rather than just a redesign because she looks pretty much the same lol

now ima talk a bit about my thoughts while designing her

i tried to base her off of queen (i 100% believe that queen represents at least berdly and noelles mothers, and i could see her representing susie and krises mothers too), with things like her blue outfit, the white around her mouth, the dark nose, black on her lower legs, things like that

i also added my own little touches, like her color scheme being similar to noelles in the dark world, because i imagine noelle loves and respect her mother, and she doesnt want to disappoint her (and i imagine the mayor to be strict, so to noelle a good way to not disappoint her mother is to be like her, if that makes sense?) so she sort of physically resembles her mother more

i also tried to give her traits a bit like noelle and dess's, so i gave her a black nose like dess, 3 big freckles like noelle, straight hair like dess, more angular eyes like dess, lighter colored fur on her legs like noelle, and light palms (tho you cant see them ) like dess. i probably did other things, but i cant remember them rn
i tried to make her look more clean and orderly, if that makes sense? like, i made her fur short (i imagine she trims it) so it looks more neat, i gave her hair very little texture, i made her ears very not fluffy 😔, and i even tried to not give her clothes that much texture.

now a bit about her personality. i imagine shes a very 'cold' person, she doesnt really get on that well with others, and shes kind of a loner (very much the kind of person who would rather do everything herself than have others help and mess things up). i know shes not confirmed to actually be the mayor, but i feel like it makes the most sense given all the hints in game. she probably isnt the best mom, but she does care (she just doesnt really know how to express it). she wants her children to succeed, but as far as shes concerned, being successful is being like her, with a respectable job and life. when dess was around, they probably never got along the best. dess is more of a free spirit who never really did the best in school was probably a class clown of sorts, pretty much the polar opposite of her mom, which led them to butting heads. especially in the time before dess went missing (my headcannon), when dess was nearing the end of high school and had to start thinking about her future, thats when they were fighting constantly. the mayor probably always interally blamed herself when dess went missing, maybe even thinking she ran away because she was such a bad mom. when dess dissappeared the mayor retreated into her job as a coping mechanism and trying to use her power to find her daughter, which led her to becoming more estranged to noelle.

with noelle, the mayor always mentally considered her the golden child, seeing noelle as the one who was going to follow in her footsteps and become the next mayor and lead a respectable life. while noelle liked getting along with her mother, she didnt like how her mom was always pressuring her to do better, to be the best she could be. it wasnt as bad before dess went missing, but afterwards the pressure got ten times worse. noelle wants to tell her mother how she feels, but shes scared of confrontation, so nothing changes.
