Sometimes when I’m cleaning or just digging around I find old art goodies that I haven’t put up here yet. I did this sometime between ’96 and ‘99 as a small practice piece for the full size carousel horse I was carving. [link] It’s basswood with acrylic and gold leaf, just under 9 inches long, five inches tall, and 2.5 inches wide. I didn’t put up any photos of the other side because it looks pretty much exactly the same, minus the little bit of mane that’s showing (if for some reason anyone really wants to see, let me know). My first real wood carving experiment. It was never intended to have a body.
