If you have never drawn a horse before I suggest drawing Part One first: This one is similar. What you have to do first is draw a line at the angle the horse is rearing up. Then draw the circles and ovals that make the belly, butt and shoulders. Then draw the line to figure out how long the legs are going to be... draw the triangle and simple arch to make sure the head will fit on the paper.

Horses are my most favorite animal in the world for so many reasons and on so many levels.

On a basic level the early steps to drawing a horse is similar to the drawing of many four legged animals. It is in the details that other animals take shape. Length of head, neck, legs... the shape of the noses, ears, eyes, feet and tail. From this basic body plan you can create other animals.

As an artist it is important to make an attempt to master the drawing of the horse because this animal has been involved with the history of mankind for thousands of years. Look at the history of any continent(except the polar regions and scattered islands) and you will find the involvement of the horse in art, in war, in song and in daily life.

They are beautiful to look at, wonderful companions and so there fore have been my muse for a long long long time. The passion I had for them as a kid was what brought me to the making of art. Without them I would not have found the happiness I have now. I homage them all the time.
