Very interesting. Does the macro avoid unintended intersections? I like the way it does not spread uniformly. I think you could perhaps add even more interest by adding in little details like rivets and rounded corners. Also, some blurred reflection would kill the render time but I think it would add a lot to the realism. Well done!

It looks cool, but the image is a bit too full with just metal for my taste. It just goes on in every direction. There's no focus. What is it? Can you indtrocude something like more open space, some definite boundaries, or little spaceships? It'll probably come alive as the gigantic metal contraption if you do that.
Some distance fog might also add a touch of depth.
