Description Fallout: Equestria, O.I.A. Crusade Doctrine

Due to the Equestria Navy not taking part in frontline combat, they would only receive the surplus arms during the war, even when the assault rifle became the standard, the navy still used battle rifles. When the war came to its end and the navy was left stranded out in the ocean, the guns they had became their prized possessions.

As the years went on, and a generation past, the Equestrian fleet would become the Oceanic Illuminated Authority, maintaining order through faith and strength out on the water. Many of the old guns would begin to fall to rust and replacements would be needed as they survived through raiding and war. The old guns would take on newer forms, and become symbols of their unyielding faith in the Goddesses. Favoring durability the guns would be made to resist rust and the sailors who used them. Though looking crude and often in poor condition, the O.I.A. Arms are known to keep on fighting even when it shouldn't.

-Naval .45 ACP “Perseverance”-

Little has changed from the day this verdant of the “Colt” was made by Griffinstone Mechanics. As the last line of the “Colt’ pistols before it was fazed out in favor of the 10mm, the what would be known as the Naval .45 ACP was made to withstand any environment or harsh treatment. Event after years of Naval survase this pistol continued to fire and still fired a hundred years after.

When the Naval .45 ACP’s began to dwindle in number, the IOA finally began to make their own, and with knowledge of the roughness of ochan combat in mind, they managed to make what they named “Perseverance” into an even more durable pistol. Even when rusting the guns still fires with a smooth action and deals death to heathens.

-.45 SMG “Rust Gun”-

Born from the ill conceived Idea of making a small caliber turret at the cheapest of costs. The “Rust Gun” would become a standard firearm not because it is a good or effective gun, but because it is an extremely disposable gun. Unreliable, overheats quickly, and kicks like a mule, this gun is quite hated by all that use it, yet has also come to represent the common sailor in the IOA.

Unlike most SMG’s, the “Rust Gun” is eisley rechambered for larger or smaller caliber rounds, commonly remade to use 5.56mm round, and modified to act more like an assault rifle. It is still a terrible gun, but one that has often caught ponies by surprise with how viciously the SMG is put to use.

-7.62 Battle Rifle “Crusader”-

Originally made as a replacement for the GM .308 Battle Rifle “Grover” the 7.62 Battle Rifle would see a short life on the battlefield before being replaced by the IF-64 "Bloomberg." Given to the Navy, the 7.62 Battle Rifle would be found as an excellent precision rifle by those who used it, but almost impossible to control a full auto rifle.

When the IOA needed a proper rifle to replace all their old rusting ones, the 7.62 Battle Rifle was remade into the “Crusader.” Made heavier and more sturdy to fix it’s control problems with full auto firing, the rifle took on a multi purpose role in the fleets. From a support LMG to a markspony sniper rifle, the heavy gun has proven more than effective at its job to deal death. The ponies who use the “Crusader” are commonly devout zealots, who seeing the gun as having to bear the burden of the Goddesses wrath, of which they must bear themselves and use on the non-believers.

-12 Gauge Shotgun “Templar”-

Originally the Winchester Hunting Shotgun, it would be privately purchased by the Navy sailors when on leave, and reconverted to be like the trench gun they would never receive. When the OIA started making new guns, the “Templar” was last, but not least on their list of guns to produse.

Used for onboard ship defence, the “Templar” is commonly loaded with birdshot, and has a far more smooth slamfire then any shotgun found in the world. Several longer barreled variants are also produced as well, commonly used when fighting off ships with more powerful shells.

-7.62 GPMG “Hog” (General Purpose Machine Gun)-

A replacement for the “GAR” the IF-60 “Hog” proved to be an effective Machine Gun for the Equestria military, and was in use up to the end of the war. Extensively used by the Navy, it filled in every role a Machine Gun could fill and with the only problem of it being as hard to control as a hog.

The OIA would change little about the “Hog” only adding the same rust protection as the rest of the guns had. When the OIA meets an enemy, often the first guns used on them would be a “Hog” mounted onto their Vertibucks.

-50cal Anti-Material Rifle “Goddesses Wrath”-

After the war, the early OIA would capture a Zebra CSPM10 50cal Anti-Material Rifle “Umbulali” and begin copping it for their own. The result was what would later be named the “Goddesses Wrath” a rifle used only by their morse exceptional sharpshooters, and kept as a trophy by the Admirals and Bishops.
