Description

The first Sprint seemed to be a rather boring show for the most part, aside from Mikkel Pedersen performing a spin-show at the Corkscrew on the opening lap, condemning him to the back of tomorrow's grid, but Tails kept our team's hopes up by sneaking his way up from eleventh to eventually pull off a miracle and finish eighth to ensure we would have at least one car in the Sunday show.  This, of course, means he'll stay at 95% engine power for at least another two weeks (with round 5 at Sardegna taking place in the last weekend of March), but he's making the crowds happy.  Valentino Leonardi held off Dieter Reuter and Kuji Ike to take his first Sprint win and secure pole position for tomorrow.

The second Sprint started with Yukichi Suzuki in seventh while Diddy started back in seventeenth, sandwiched between the two Corvettes.  Diddy would take sixteenth when Jordan Conway spun at the Corkscrew on lap four, but at that exact moment, disaster struck, as Yukichi overshot the exit of turn ten, the bumpy kerbs knocking his car off balance and causing him to spin across the gravel and backing it into the barriers.  Nearly everyone in the Nissan garage screamed and held their breaths as Yukichi helplessly spun and ended up dropping all the way to the back as he got his GT-R running again.  Diddy would get past Giancarlo Alfonsi with just three laps to go, but that was to be the last place he gained.  Meanwhile, Yukichi was able to get ahead of both Corvettes, and then took Alfonsi in the Corkscrew on the final lap to tuck in behind Diddy just as the checkered flag flew with Masaki Yamamoto the victor.

Our weekend has definitely had some twists today, but in the end it looks like it's time to cheer for Tails again.  For the second time in 15 days, the fox will be the only Nissan driver competing tomorrow.  Somehow, I'm not enjoying this apparent trend.
