Long time no see. I took an extended break from drawing in order to explore different mediums and recharge my passion for it. Happens every few years. So yeah, here is one that I have been getting a lot of requests for: Tempest Shadow from the MLP movie. Here I have given her the class of "Forsaker". Which is a D&D warrior class that specializes in defeating Spellcasters and destroying magic items. Basically an anti-mage. I think it fits her perfectly. Even though she had a full outfit in the film, I actually found it quite difficult to adapt it into a human figure. But I think I found something that works, and I am really enjoying the overall colour scheme.Related content

Yeah, I was trying to come up with some way to translate a broken unicorn horn into the world of Mages. The canon I have is that the unicorn equivalent (Magicborn) wear focus crystals on their foreheads as a catalyst for their magic arts. Since the focus crystal is just an item, it would be no big deal to break one, you just get another. So I figured that permanent disfiguring damage to a Magicborn's forehead, the focal point of their magic, would jank up their ability to use magic and focus crystals.

Hmm. Interesting. I like the way you've sort of created your own universe here. If you wanted, with a little bit of rewriting, you could probably make this into a genuine original fantasy series.

Actually, I kind of did. I am aiming to write an epic fantasy novel in the coming years loosely based off MLM. Fundamentally changing major aspects to distance itself from the MLP inspiration of course. The plot and characters are going to be what thisΒ Tearnin Promo Final was supposed to be long ago.

Loose as in the only remaining element being that it is a fantasy world with three races divided by the source and practice of their magic arts. Only the Skyborn remain mainly unchanged from the My Little Mages canon. The other two changed to a race of machine builders, and a race that worships and draws magic power from deities. Also there is a character who is a scholar with a baby dragon as a pet.

Most Forsakers don't actually succeed in taking down gods. Of course, a key part of Tempest Shadow's characterization is that she isn't really in the majority of anything, so...

And niw the wait for new characters to be drawn in this style, like the students of Twilight's friendship school, or the Pilliars of Equestria, or the rest of the new characters introduced in the movie

I guess the challenge for me if I were to draw the students is that I never did establish what Hippogryphs and Yaks would be in this world. I've always figured that Yaks would be Orcs as it fits their culture. As for the Hippogryphs.. I dunno, Aasimar maybe?
