Edit: I've been told that this is a carrion crow , not a raven (as it was originally titled). Sorry for the confusion!

Seeing how it is slightly broader than the American species, but not as broad as a raven, and has throat hackles, this has to be a carrion crow (Corvus corone).

Honestly, no - I think it completely misses the mood of the language Poe used. But thank you for sharing it; it's an interesting interpretation of the poem.

Ya didn't?   Well to each his (or her) own I guess.  I liked it cuz it brought back the "morbidity" that is sometimes lost when reading the work in an "academic" environment.

Agreed! I saw the DD and at first I thought it was a taxidermy, pleased to see this pretty fellow is very much alive
