Seeing how it is slightly broader than the American species, but not as broad as a raven, and has throat hackles, this has to be a carrion crow (Corvus corone).

Honestly, no - I think it completely misses the mood of the language Poe used. But thank you for sharing it; it's an interesting interpretation of the poem.
