Description Playing around with more ballpoint and charcoal on cardstock, this time adding black charcoal to the mix for better contrast. I need more work on this technique...

Anyroad, this is a lovely 1965 Chevy pickup, powered by the lovely Cummins 5.9L engine. The truck is maroon and at some point I'd like to come up with a way to incorporate some of the color of the vehicles with this method.

I like the texture the black charcoal is providing you with. Then again I'm biased I love black charcoal.

It's gorgeous! I remember this truck well. They were everywhere in the sixties. I think it would be difficult to add color to the blue. But if you have a ton of blue stock to play with, then you could always experiment with how different colors react to the blue background. And it would give you a good opportunity for contrast. Here is an interesting one i found just the other day [link] . Anyway, love what you did with this Chevy truck!

Hmm, there's an idea. And thanks for that link! That's a pretty cool idea, oil on cardstock

Yes. There is so much you can do with oils. Don't know how permanent they would be on card stock, though.

wonder if you should do one with a Detroit Diesel 4 banger engine?
