Description For years know, I had lying around this tree patterns. And finally I managed to x-stitch one.
Why this one? because I didn't have enough green shades XD
Since I used to x-stitch a lot, I have a lot of threads. but of course, not exactly the right colors for this. so almost all the colors are improvised.
I'm aware that it looks a bit unfinish on the bottom, but I didn't like the fence the pattern showed and maple tree don't have large spreading roots. Well, I'm fine with it.
Turned it into a mouse pad. Took an old mouse pad (it didn't had any image anymore, that's why I made the x-stitch in the first place), glue the tree on it (only on the backside) and cover it with a transparent plastic sheet.

Pattern: burda special, around 1993

Good improvisation, also nice utilization of materials. The colors do remind of Oaks. But why waste what you have. I like it.

well, the pattern desciption said Sycamore, so I didn't question that
and I'm totally with you for the waste of materials (or rather the not wasting)

Yeah And the best part, homemade not mass produced plastic.

the best about homemade is actually, that it's unique. never a piece like the other.

So true so true, When I replicate a theme. There are always enough subtle differences, to keep each piece unique.
