This is a D-Vice, also known as a gotchi. It resembles a Tamagotchi, which is a popular handheld digital pet game that was first introduced in 1996; the very same gadget that kicked-off the idea for Digimon.

In Digimon City, the gotchi is used like a Digivice, enabling Digivolution. They are able to sync to a tamer's phone to allow for more cool features! In conjunction with a CCard (Crest Card, which acts like a crest), your tamer will be fully equipped to take on any threat the Retro Islands have in store.
