This group focuses on encouraging artists.

We have reached 5,000 members much sooner than I anticipated. Congratulations to for being member number 5,000 and I have chosen three artworks from her gallery to celebrate this occasion.

The August feature contains a small selection of the amazing artworks I receive each month from our very talented members, which I hope everyone is still enjoying and continues to be inspired by. Our membership is steadily growing and at the time of submitting this journal is now 5,010 and our galleries as I always write, contain even more inspirational artworks, which are well worth viewing as well as adding to your .
I opened a new folder for colorist artworks two months ago, which appears to be confusing many members and adding to my workload. A colorist is responsible for adding line art to pencil sketches and color to black-and-white line art, which often involves from one to three individual artists. Please remember that this folder is not for colourful artworks or colouring your own artworks.

I have also opened a new "Featured 8" gallery folder as the other 7 featured folders are now full.

About our group

The primary focus of this group continues to be digital painting and digital drawing, which should be submitted to the 'Featured 8' folder. This group also accepts and has folders for animation, designs and interfaces, deviantWEAR, pixel art and pixel animation, vector and vexel artworks, comic strips, pages and panels, matte painting, mature content, mixed media, mixed media - 3D, 3D art, 3D objects, commission information, tutorials and resources, announcements and wallpaper submissions.
As always, I would like to congratulate the members on the continuing high quality of their artworks, which are always a pleasure for me to accept.

While it is understood that digital art is digital art in general this group primarily highlights art from:
Digital Painting/Airbrushing
Digital Drawings
Digital Mixed Media
Digital Miscellaneous

Please understand that if you are a member submitting photomanipulation, fractal, typography or traditional artworks, while I respect your work, I will regretfully decline it because this is not what this group is showcasing. We only accept completed artworks and not work in progress (W.I.P.) If an artwork is declined, I will always send a message explaining why.

Artworks containing nudity must be tasteful and have artistic merit. Full frontal nudity is rarely accepted, nor are sexually exlicit and sexually immoral artworks or those containing an excess of crude language. Having said this there can be exceptions but my decision will take into consideration the high number of young members in this group.

If you submit mixed media, and stock/photo is used, it must be minimal, preferably in the background, with the majority of the artwork digitally painted or drawn, or I will regretfully decline it. In most cases, if I really love the image, I will add it to my personal favourites as I frequently do.

Another wonderful selection of artworks, from the many talented members of our group. My method is to arrange the artworks in colours that work best together, and vary the subject matter, so that a portrait is not next to another portrait nor a landscape next to landscape and I prefer cute ones and also animations at the end to maintain interest.
