I feel that the background is taking away and even competing with your model.
Also; it looks as if her outfit is out of place. I believe this is because of the way it falls over her breasts. It doesn't look like a 'real' outfit.

no way... the lack of texture on the model shines next to the overly texturized background!
it's wonderful.
as for the fit... it's very abstract and star trekky, and don't forget... its photoshopped!
i'll say it again, good job, digital.

I believe you're missing the point, Mallanaga.
Its not that the background is textured, it's that's the pattern is so eye-catching with the dark red on white, that's it taking away from the beauty and softness of the model. It's too busy.
And, the fact that you say "...don't forget... its photoshopped!" is proof that it's slightly awkward. Most of the time--unless for some odd circumstance--you don't want your audience and/or client to be able to tell its photoshopped. Its the same with Hollywood models. They'd be ugly if it wasn't for the photoshopping, but the people that 'fix' it don't want you to be able to tell its photoshopped. It has to look realistic or its going to look 'fake' or 'unnatural'.
It's a great concept, there are just a few minor tweaks that he might think about making.
