You didn't seriously think for one minute I'd revisit the World War I era with my online Virtual Navy and leave out the Imperial German Navy (Geman Kaiserlich Marine, or GKM), did you? So let's briefly resurrect its anthem, courtesy of YouTube, as we open the new Imperial German wing of my Virtual Navy Gallery!

The four battleships of the Imperial German Nassau class were widely perceived at the time as being built in response to Britain's then brand new Dreadnought - the battleship that redefined the type for the rest of the battleship era. This is only partly true. They were actually conceived and ordered before Dreadnought, but their design was altered in response to it. Because of this they are officialy considered the first of Germany's modern dreadnought type battleships. They also had a very unusual hexagonal layout for their main gun turrets (this had been done previously with only mixed main and secondary guns by the world's navies), and this unique all-main-gun hexagonal layout would be repeated with the subsequent Helgolands. They served as the backbone of Kaiser Wilhelm II's new High Seas Fleet until newer and more powerful German battleships came along, after which they were relegated to second-tier duties. All four served in World War I, and all four were present at Jutland - the biggest naval battle of the era. To find out more about the Nassaus, follow the link below:

This is a straight port with no changes by me. It replaces the game-ripped Jutland version I had up before in my online C21VN collection, so you can have a version of this without any potential rights issues attached.
This is not my model. All I did was port it for you. Please credit stuart277 as the original creator if you use this in any of your own 3D projects. You do not have to credit me for my part.
