This image is from a small subset of RE Exodus imagery I created back in the day that depict scenes I later rewrote or even abandoned and replaced while I was still developing and writing the novel.

This image was originally created as part of the Exodus storyboard set, back in the day when I was still working on the novel.  It depicts the start of the first draft of a scene that would have taken place after Linda was rescued from the giant alligator near the end of the Sewers stage.  In this first draft Elza is the one who comes to Linda's rescue instead of the latter rescuing herself, as Elza's gun doesn't jam from being waterlogged in this version.  By this point in time, and given the fact that Linda almost got Elza killed by flooding the Central Tank with poor Elza still inside, our young heroine has decided that she has had enough of Linda's antics.  Elza ties up the unconscious woman so she won't cause her any more trouble, and this is how Linda finds herself when she finally comes to.  Whether or not Elza throws her to the zombies as she promised at one point we'll never know, because I decided this version wasn't going the way I wanted and abandoned it not long after I had started fleshing out the prose.  I eventually rewrote it into the form you find in the final novel.  I posted it anyway back in the day so folks would know that I did at one point consider Elza getting her wish regarding Linda, and now you newer Exodus fans can see it too.

You can read the original version of this scene, along with many other deleted and altered/revised scenes, in my Exodus Draft Fragments collection.  Here's a link:
