Im thinking about this...what about some kind of spec ops blade or a handgun.

a blade would be cool and maybe some kind of grenade

Hmmm... both I think :] Blade (or double ^^) for hand combat and some handgun for close range combat in closed spaces where using rifle isn't always the best option.
