::UPDATE::I started messing around with this to see how much farther I could push Kusanagi beyond what he is currently.
Not just a bit of an outfit change and a darker expression, I decided I wanted to give his gauntlet more purpose, so I did my own take on his flame ability, making it far more powerful and unstable than the real Kyo, so much so you can actually see it coursing underneath his skin. He uses the gauntlet as more of a limiter, literally to keep his arm from bursting into flame when he uses his ability.
Originally I was going to make this an alternate REDUX, but I actually liked it better than the original, so I am just writing over it. If you happened to download the original version, well....... just consider it a collectors item

King of Fighters REDUX RETURNS!
I have had dozens of emails requesting the Kyo clones, so it was about time they made their debut onto the REDUX scene!
For the clones, my ultimate goal is to give each of them their own unique look, to really break them apart from the original Kyo and make them all unique in style. In kusanagi's case this is mainly just an outfit update, I haven't altered the actual character too much, except for the new gauntlet on his arm.
I wanted an outfit piece that really made the evil version stand out from the others, and the gauntlet felt like the perfect thing to really balance darker look to the overall character. I can just imagine Kusanagi all cast in dark with his glowing eyes, flame and gauntlet the only things visible from his silhouette.

I apologize if I'm stating something you already knew, but Kyo-1 (blue) is more serious and doesn't underestimate his opponents, while Kyo-2 (orange) is more cocky and always underestimates his opponents. Maybe you could incorporate these characteristics into their designs?

You mean the evil Ryu one from SSF4 AE? Can't say I did as I don't own that game. I think I was more inspired by evil Ken from SvC Chaos, and Evil Haomaru from CvS 2.

As somebody said, Kusanagi is related more to Chizuru/Maki and I doubt that he needed that big gauntlet... It would be more appropriate on Kyo-1 or 2. Looks nice, though, he definitely looks menacing.

Well, if I know my SNK-Fu well, I think 2002 Kusanagi (unlocked by highlighting Kyo during Character Select then pressing up down right left down up left right) was supposed to be the last of the direct Kyo clones, but then they changed that into the Shadow Image in 2003.

Kaneda & Tetsuo, they did a rip of KUSANAGI and K9999 in 2002. But, because of SNKP afraid of being sued, they scrapped him for 2002 Unlimited Match.

K9999 is the 9999th clone of Kyo, he does have his DNA, but he hates K' more.
After the death of Krizalid and the disappearance of K', NESTS decided to comb their research for errors. K9999 became the "perfected" 9999th Kyo clone. Unlike K' and Krizalid, K9999 was created ground-up as a clone from Kyo's DNA. He wields an enormous amount of power but has trouble controlling it. The blue glove he wears helps him control his shapeshifting powers and keep them from going berserk.
His main purpose in the KOF 2001 storyline is to dispatch the rogue creations that had escaped from NESTS's grasp. He apparently does not discover that he is a clone himself until after the destruction of the cartel. K9999 became known to be an angry and lonely young man... only Angel seems to like him.

Judging by this picture, he doesn't really give you the clone look, it's more like he's still a shadow image created by Chizuru. I know he's a clone from 2002 + UM, but this picture doesn't really give me that feel that he wants to destroy. And what is that thing on his neck, it's more like a symbol that's from Naruto.

Yeah, I have seen a lot of different pictures of Kusanagi, and usually he has a crazy look in his eye, but I have seen some where he is just standing there looking normal, so I decided to kinda break even on the expression
It's just a specialized collar to go with his jacket/shirt. I actually changed the symbol, originally it derived from Saisyu's outfit, but I changed it to be the Kusanagi clan symbol. I guess it would make sense that it would look like Naruto, since those are clan symbols on their headbands.

And this image gives me the feeling, he just wants to fight, like the way his personality is in KOF 2003. A shadow image who only tests the KOF participants' abilities, and soon disappears after that.

Yeah, I apologize if I'm being an ass about it, I just feel it's best if someone draws a character, they should give that character a new personality (Which you've done with a few in your past KOF reduxes), but still base their personality on the game where they first debuted.
And of course, KUSANAGI may be Kyo's KOF 95 gameplay, but based on the portraits that you've seen, he has that dark smile that gives you the fear of death.
Yeah, I'm basically a Kyo type of gamer, started from 94 and all the way to 13, and that's including the Kyo clones.

No worries, actually the eyes are supposed to be Red in my version, but my color correction and FX kinda offset it to yellow. I went back and fixed the issue.

The zipper and that Naruto wearing thing seems a bit off course for him, he doesn't really have a ninja type personality, he's more I'm killing anyone who stands in my way. Even after fixing the issue, I guess he still doesn't give me the impression that he wants to kill.
If you look at some of my gallery, you can tell that some images of KUSANAGI shows his personality and really wants to kill people.

I can't make any promises, but its not unprecedented for ALTs of my REDUX designs to appear based on SNK fan feedback (see Athena/Joe). I have already started on the next REDUX, but if I find some free time, perhaps you will see an ALT evil(er) Kusanagi in the future

His personalities are different depending on what you want as an artist. In 2002, he's N.E.S.T.S. Ultimate perfected clone, who inherits the original Kyo Kusanagi's memory. He's also faster, stronger, and more powerful than Kyo. In 2003, he's more of a shadow image created by Chizuru who just fights for the experience. And him having a Naruto-like symbol gives him the image of him teaming up with someone. But his personality is more he wants to kill all of NESTS, and the original Kyo Kusanagi. And looking at the image, I wouldn't say it's bad, nor good, I guess, it didn't live up to the expectation, if you look at the 2002 and Unlimited match clone team ending and the portrait, his eyes glow red, like Akuma from Street Fighter. And since you gave Kyo a change, what I thought was you should give the clones a change, not just their clothes, but their personalities, as well.
