Then you support any rainbow technically, because there isn't any certain use of the rainbow. ( Even though, it's mostly used for the LGBT+ community these days.)

For our meaning, the flag has a lot of colours and the LGBT has many diverse identities. That and other cultures interpret it differently. It doesn't belong to religion, nor anything else. There's your answer.
"Gay people only like members of the same sex, right? Uh, isn't that less diverse?" As I said, there are many other identities. It's not just gay people.
"They're pretty and I like them, so quit using God's promise to not the flood the crap out of the world again for your politically correct agenda."
Nobody said you couldn't still like them and I'd rather stand for what it means for us than some shitty apology from someone who you think tried to destroy the Earth(news flash: there are still floods today, so it meant nothing)and for the fact that rainbows are a scientific phenomenon.

The thing is, Christianity doesn't own the image of a Rainbow. In Chrisitianity and Judaism, the Rainbow is used by God as a symbol of his promise to never flood the Earth again, and as a symbol of his covenant between himself and those who believe in him. In the LBGT+community, the Rainbow is used to express pride and to represent diversity (The + already indicates that it includes much more then just homosexuality). Pretty big differences and can be a bit of a toutchy subject, considering homosexual acts are considered a sin in the Bible.
However, you must remember that plenty of cultures, religions and mythologies use rainbows all in sorts of manner, many of which also don't allign with the Biblical interpretation of a Rainbow. To the Aboriginal tribes of Australia, the Rainbow is seen as a connection with the Rainbow Serpent, the creator in many native belief systems of that country. The ancient Greeks, Romans and Nordic cultures believed that a Rainbow served as a bridge between heaven and earth, or between various worlds in general (Norse mythology describes the existence of nine worlds, our Earth being one of them.) Hinduism sees the Rainbow as the manifestation of actual deities, and the colors represent the various chakra's. The Amazonian cultures are even more different, as they believe that rainbows were connected to spirits that brought plagues.
I think people should remember that no culture, religion, community or mythology 'owns' something. Every natural phenonom or animal or anything else means something different in a differant culture. The dragon is hold sacred in ancient Chinese religions, and loathed in Christianity and ancient European cultures. The lion was a symbol of royalty and bravery in Europe, but the African tribes generally had much more respect for leopards, which were viewed as 'bastard' animals in Europe. Lightning was seen by some cultures as a sign that the gods were angry, while others believed that they were content.

I'm glad this stamp was created. As much as I may be infuriating some people, I'm a Christian and believe the rainbow was and still is a promise that the Lord would never flood the Earth again. As the Bible says, it's not right to love the same gender. --I know I may be yelled at, but this is the internet and is full of opinion that no one can change. I'm not trying to agitate anyone, but please don't waste part of your life yelling at me.

It's not like I'm against gays using the rainbow to represent their community (I'm an LGBT+ supporter, btw), but I feel the rainbow is nothing more than a bunch of water and some sunlight.

Why does an Eagle mean freedom? Why does a flag mean a country? Were stars made to represent states?
Anything can be made to be a symbol of anything. I'm sorry you've been snickered at, and have received funny looks. But at least you can hold your lover's hand in public and not be told you need counseling, and that you're going to Hell. You do know, that gays in some countries have been abandoned by their families, beaten, raped, and that the way they were born is not only considered evil, but is punishable by death? Did you know that that is still going on, today?
Stop bitching and just let gays have their rainbow, okay? I understand your frustration, but if gays want the rainbow to be a symbol of themselves, then let them. They've been through a lot more regarding love than you will ever have to experience. Be thankful for that. I've prayed to be straight a thousand times. I've wished I was born straight on so many stars, and I'll never be able to experience dating the way all my friends do, and I'll be told by multiple people for the rest of my life that I should change, even though I can't, no matter how much I want to. If someone laughs at you, tell them you're actually straight and you just like rainbows and tell them to fuck off.

Well, I love rainbows to: 1) because I just do ^^ 2) because i support gay rights. And I have rainbow everything And people don't think it has anything to do with gay rights. .-. (not like I care if they did think that, because that's partly why I have all that rainbow stuff xD) I don't see why it was important enough to make a stamp and get all mad about it. .-. Oh, and, "I can see it representing diversity of colors and cultures, but this? Gay people only like members of the same sex, right? Uh, isn't that less diverse?"
they use the rainbow sign because it's not just for gay people. It's for straight, bisexual, homosexual, trans gender, and everything else. So it's sorta like a rainbow. I read the comments and some people were a little offenced by that statement. Including me.

the rainbow doesn't only stand for gay people, it stands for sexuality as a whole. be it homosexual, bisexual, pansexual and transgender. I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, I'm just trying to point out the facts more clearly c:

Shouldn't gays be using like one color?

Let the gays use it. It's not hurting anyone. As long as you believe what you want about rainbows, than it doesn't matter to the rest of us.

But I'm a Christian and before gay used the rainbow as they're symbol it was ours first it's funny isn't it. Us Christians also get discriminated I wonder how come there aren't Christanphobes I mean I know that we can be very judgmental and rude by I am not. but I will fight for what I believe in and the rainbow is our promise from God, maybe you wont understand but it has meaning to us why is it gays don't get this for saying the rainbow is there's because we believe it is ours. And again people come to attack us on our stamp.

I don't see how a group of people can claim a natural phenomenon. It has never belonged to Christians and it has never belonged to the homosexual activist movement. No one can own a rainbow, and I think that's the beauty of it.
Just as some don't believe or approve of homosexuality, some don't believe or approve of Christianity. I respect that, and others need to respect that too. I personally love Christians, just not the ones that use God to justify human hatred (Those aren't true Christians anyway). *CoughWestborobaptistchurchcough*
Anyway, you can wear a rainbow shirt, and who gives a crap if people think you're gay? Stop worrying about social stigmas and chill out man. I'm not attacking anyone, I just like a healthy debate. Point is, a stamp isn't going to change anything. People need to just stop worrying, and do what they want. If you wanna wear rainbow, whether you're gay or not, just wear rainbow.
