Description
A chocoholic is a person who craves or compulsively consumes chocolate.
A loud laughter rung through a tiny and empty apartment. It was you, lazily laying on your bed and watching yet another hilarious video of PewDiePie.
It was a warm summer day and your vacations just began, giving you the chance to finally catch up on the missed uploads of your favorite blogger. Nothing was more perfect for you than doing absolutely nothing, just watching videos, gaming and... well, munching on chocolate.
Reaching for another piece, you threw it in your mouth and munched happily on it, cute giggles escaping you at the reactions Pewds was giving. Various wrappers were laying around you messily, a few were even on the floor but you cared less. It was your addiction and you couldn't help it.
Your friends had called you 'chocoholic' since middle school, because you were always seen carrying around chocolate bars or candies or anything that had chocolate in it. Your best friend even joked about the sweet being your boyfriend and that you will never find one, if you will continue like this. Now, you will begin your last year in high school and you still didn't have a boyfriend indeed. But at least chocolate was there and always will be. It was a miracle how you didn't gain weight, though.
In your defense, you don't refer to yourself as a chocoholic. You like to call yourself a gourmet. Sounds amusing but finding out new brands of chocolate or tasting different kinds of it from all around the World is one of your hobbies. Count it on you, if someone needs to find a chocolate for a present. You will smell the best of it miles away and bring it for them in a few minutes.
Yet another burst of laughing escaped you as you giggled like mad, hitting a pillow nearby as the video ended. Chuckling, you reached for another piece of tasty Swiss chocolate your aunt brought you from her travelling... when your hand hit emptiness. Blinking, you looked at the wrapper and noticed it being empty, chocolate long gone.
"Booooooooh-" A pout escaped you, as you flipped the wrapper away, stretching as you sat. "Time for a new bar!" Jumping on your feet, you skipped out from your room. It was your fifth bar today. Not mentioning the many chocolate candies you consumed.
Firstly, you looked up a bowl, that stood on the living-room's table, where usually candies for guests were prepared. Long ago empty. Pouting, you opened a counter, where boxes of chocolate were hidden for special occasions. Empty as well, you remembered you finished the last box yesterday.
Now frowning, you walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge, searching for any trails of chocolate. Nothing. Slight panic arose in you as you closed it and momentary went to look up your counter for goodies. You prayed there would be an chocolate bun or something small... but it was empty as well.
Dropping to your knees before it, you yelled out, "Are you kidding me?!" There was absolutely no chocolate left in your house.
Not giving up, you quickly scrambled to your feet, slammed the counter shut and began on searching for at least the smallest piece of it somewhere, maybe deep down hidden by your parents.
After a couple of minutes, you were groaning in your pillow, sprawled on your bed again. No chocolate anywhere, absolutely nothing. You had consumed it all. Angrily kicking your feet like a kid, you rolled on your back, looking up at the ceiling. If you don't get chocolate soon, you will sulk through the whole day and be grumpy as shit.
Sometimes, there were days when you may eat tons of it and it would still be not enough and days, where you would quietly munch on a single bar thru a whole day and survive. It was the first option, today.
Grumpily rolling off your bed, you squeaked as you met the floor and wrapper with your face. "UGHH, I want chocolate!!" You shouted as you sat up, rubbing your poor nose.
There was no option left but to grab your wallet and go on an short trip to a nearby convenience store. Jumping up, you rushed to your wardrobe to pull out simple blue jeans shorts and a black T-Shirt which had 'Chocolate doesn't ask silly questions. Chocolate understands' written on it.
Quickly pulling off your pajama - yes, you still were in it - over your head, you dressed in light speed. Putting your laptop on 'Sleep' mood, you grabbed your backpack and dashed to hallway, to brush your hair.
The nearest convenience store was ten minutes away, so not wasting anymore time and pulling your hair in a messy bun, you put on your shoes, grabbed your things and locking the apartment, skipped outside.
The sun was bright, warm and pleasing as you smiled, walking quickly down the familiar path, walked by you at least three times a week. You were sure if someone covered your eyes, you would have still found your way towards it, because the place had all the chocolates you needed.
You were sure you bet your record this time as you arrived at the store sooner than expected - desperate for chocolate, what do you want - and immediately walked towards your favorite section - candies. At this time of day, there were only a few persons around and most of them bought ice-cream, so you were greeted with delight as you saw the section empty of people.
Time to swipe the shelves!~ Rubbing your hands together, you walked towards the glorious chocolates and instantly grabbing three different Milka bars as your eyes sparkled.
"New brand!~" You squealed quietly, grabbing the new chocolate brand, eager to try it out as soon as possible. Eyes darting to other bars, you looked over their every inch, choosing another few bars - it ended with you getting at least ten of those, all different, no similarity in them. As you called yourself a gourmet, you needed to follow the steps of it - taste different kinds, not only one.
Happily skipping towards the cashier, the woman at it sweat-dropped at your purchase. "Wouldn't your teeth hurt, dear?" She commented as she scanned all of those, while you pulled your wallet out. You quickly shook your head, blushing lightly. "No.. they are just fine..~" The answer was quiet and more of a mumble as you paid for the goodies, stuffed those inside your backpack and left the store in a rush.
Even though you seemed like a happy, silly and out-going girl, you were extremely shy around strangers. Your face would instantly warm up and your speech will turn into mumbles as you would try to leave them as quickly as possible. You were glad you had your friends, who already dealt with this stage of your personality.
Sighing, you slowed down, trying to unzip your backpack. Need to try this new brand now. You succeed in unzipping it and almost pulling the bar out, but to your unluck, you didn't look where you were placing your feet and it ended in you tripping over the pavement and falling down with a loud scream right onto your bear knees and hands. All of the chocolates scattered all over you as you groaned and winced, the pain going through your whole body as you slowly sat up.
It was a horrible sight on your knees as all of them were scrapped and blood gushed down your legs. You bit onto your lip, trying to blink coming tears up. Great, just great. Goodbye shorts and skirts, goodbye trips to lakes or sea- This will take a long time to heal and scars will be left. Looking at your hands, you frowned at them - palms scrapped as well. Why were you such a clumsy idiot?
Reaching for you backpack, you needed to get out of the way as soon as possible, before anyone could see you like this, or they will get shocked by the fountain of blood all over your legs. The chocolates were still scattered as you quickly began to throw them all inside the bag and trying to stand up. You groaned louder, it was hard, but the wounds were still allowing you to move and that's, that mattered - you needed to run home quickly, before the shock wore off and the wounds would get infection.
"Is this yours?" A sudden voice appeared before you as you snapped your head up from your squatted position, halfway through getting up.
Right there, a few meters away, stood a male, his eyes covered by black framed glasses, messy brown locks sticking at all directions as he held a chocolate bar for you. He was tall and tanned, dressed a bit strangely for summer: blue half-unbuttoned shirt, simple jeans, rolled past his ankles and plain white shoes. All that was accompanied by a white robe, that you only saw people in the hospital wear and a black briefcase. As the slight wind blew, making the robe move lightly, he looked at you with a smile.
Your breath caught in your throat as you stared back at him, totally forgetting in what bloody mess you sat right there. He was really handsome and breath-taking. Though, the male didn't seem to log off as you did, because the moment his eyes traveled to your horribly hurt knees, they grew wide and he rushed over. "Dios Mio! La sangre!" You blinked at the sudden Spanish, your lips parting to say something-
-but as he came closer, you noticed his eyes. Those big, green eyes, the most beautiful shade you had ever seen. It made you stare at him opened mouthed now as he knelt before you, putting the chocolate aside and looking down at your knees with big worry. "These need treatment right away!" He looked back at you, which made you immediately snap back from your daze and realize what just happened.
Your cheeks exploded with the color of blood as you instantly looked down, feeling the earlier feeling of shyness near strangers come back and the desperate need to run off kicked in as you clutched your backpack to yourself, standing up with a bit of sway.
"I-I'm fine..!" You shuttered out a mumble, unable to look at him. "T-Thank you for your worry, I-I will go-" But a tight grasp on your wrist made you squeak in surprise, before you could take a step away.
"I'm not letting you go like this, chica!" The male looked at you seriously as he stood up as well, still holding your wrist. "Let me help, we need those cleaned and bandaged this instant-"
"I-I could do this at home..!" You cut him off sharply, trying to wriggle your wrist out, face bearing the temperature of boiling water. This male was weird, though. "I-It's really alright, I swear-"
"Hermosa, you could not fool a doctor." The male sighed, which made you instantly look up at him with shock written all over your face. Oh.. It explains.. the strange robe. He gave a wide grin. "I don't ask you to let me lead you to hospital. Come, I will treat your wounds right here and then, you will never see me again, alright?" He tugged onto your wrist, while bending down to pick the left out chocolate bar on the ground. "After all, it's my job to help people, si?" He chuckled, offering you the chocolate piece once again as he stared at you with such deep and sincere worry, that all you could do was slowly reach out for the chocolate and then nod quickly, while squeezing it to yourself.
The strange male doctor smiled brightly at you as he helped you to a nearby bench. The shock was wearing off and you began on hissing the moment you sat down. The male knelt before your bloody knees, examining them with narrowed eyes. Pulling his briefcase over his head, you looked at him strangely as he opened it and pulled some napkins out and a bottle of water.
"Hermosa, what's your name?~" The male suddenly looked up before opening the bottle, a smile back on his face. That made you blink and quickly turn your head away, cheeks staying heated as earlier.
"__.. ____." You mumbled out as he proceed to wet the napkins with hopefully cold water - you felt your knees begin on burning.
The male grinned. "Yo soy Antonio and it's pleasant to meet you even under such circumstances." He looked back at your knees. "This may begin hurting bit by bit, but try not to focus on it much." With that said, he gently took your right leg in his one hand and lifted it lightly, beginning to clean off the blood and wound on it.
You would have tried smiling at first but the stings only made you frown and curse in your head- How were you supposed to not think about it, when it's the only thing, your mind swirls around right now? You gave a wince and Antonio winced himself.
"Lo siento, chica. To take your mind off of it- Tell me, how did you fall?" His gentle movements continued as by now your ears, face and probably neck burned redder than the blood itself, if possible - half from the memory of falling over and half from the feeling of his touches on your skin.
You stayed silent for a moment but then finally dared to look over at him. "I.. fell over." You mumbled, causing for Antonio to look up at you, which made you quickly turn your head away from him. No, you were still not ready and really uncomfortable with facing him. But he was listening, even though, he changed the napkin to a new one, so now you needed to somehow continue, "I-I was not focused on where I was going and I tripped." You bit your lip, the stinging in your knee getting stronger as Antonio taped around your wound with freshly cold napkin.
The situation made him chuckle, however, thinking just how clumsy you can be. "Is there any specific reason you were not focused on your path?" He let go off of your leg and took a hold of another one, proceeding to clean around there now.
You winced. "I was-" But then, you cut off yourself. Should you really tell him your real reason you were distracted? It would seem really embarrassing and he probably would just laugh at you. You decided you will tell him something simple, like, was searching for a phone. Before you could open your mouth, though, Antonio finished cleaning the other knee quicker and pulled a first aid-kit from the portfolio. You forgot what you meant to say as you stared at it as the handsome male opened it. "You are really a doctor.." You mumbled instead.
The Spaniard heard that and it made him smile sheepishly, "Actually, I'm only a trainee and I carry this stuff everywhere with me, in case of accidents." He pulled a tiny bottle with one hand, while other adjusted his glasses. "I'm only studying and doing practice at the nearby hospital, to become one, though." He looked up at you, putting his hands before his face as if praying. "Please don't get angry at my little lie- I really wanted to help you!" You watched him, taken aback by it.
But something made your lips twitch in a smile as you said, voice still quiet, "It's alright. Thank.. thank you." You hid your nose into your backpack as you looked at him like that, hiding your rising smile as well.
Cute!~ Antonio almost screamed out at the action but he tried to calm his fast beating heart. "As I said, it's my job, hermosa!~ Now.." He opened the tiny bottle. "..this will really hurt." You didn't get the chance to open your mouth, before the liquid was sprayed all over your knees.
All you remembered was the sudden burning sensation as you screamed out, "Chocolate!! OW!!" And then proceed to wince, groan, hiss and bit all of your skin on your poor lip. The scream made Antonio jump, looking at you worriedly instantly.
"Lo siento mucho, hermosa! It's disinfectant, it will destroy all of the gotten dirt and bacteria in there!" The brown haired male quickly put the nasty bottle away, putting the water bottle and left napkins back into his briefcase and then standing up and throwing all of the dirty napkins into a nearby trash bin.
You understood but you could only nod as you clutched your backpack tightly to yourself, probably breaking all of the chocolates in there- But right now, you tried as hard as not to lunch and wipe all of that horrible liquid off. You even stretched your legs out, to get used to the feeling sooner but it only made you wince and yowl more, tears showing at your (e/c) eyes. Antonio took a seat besides you as you proceed to burn in agony.
He gave you a sympathetic look - he didn't like seeing people hurt so bad. He needed to think of something... "Hermosa, why did you suddenly yell out 'chocolate'?" Normal people would curse, in his opinion.
The question made you wince more as you took a long sigh. After all, there will be no lying about it. "I fell down because of it." You spilled out, hiding your face into your backpack. "I-I wanted to get one bar out and I didn't focus and tripped- So yeah-" You mumbled into the bag, making Antonio only stare at you with more confusion.
The sounds of chuckling followed as you groaned into your bag. Great, he's laughing, after all- If that was a side view, you would laugh as well, but you participated in this story and it was really not funny to you. "Stop!" You looked at him with big pout. "Not funny!" The face you gave made the male trainee only burst out laughing completely with the most strangest laugh you heard as you hissed from the pain and annoyance.
The Spaniard even pulled his glasses off, wiping a view tears away, "A-Ah, lo siento, I have never heard of such accident, chica." He looked at you with a wide smile on his face. "I will definitely use it in my presentation about first-aid." He exploded in cute giggles, making your face explode in color- Was it possible to beat the record of most reddest face yet?
"Don't dare..!" You shouted, smacking him on the shoulder, which made him 'ow' in more cute manner, giving you a pout back. You hide your boiling face into the backpack as it was your turn to resist screaming - this male was so cute and handsome and you were so clumsy and shy, it just made you want to scream more from being flustered with yourself.
"Fusoso~" The strange laugh again as he smiled at your curled form. "You're so shy, hermosa~" The comment only made you push your face further into the backpack, making yourself more of a fool, than you already were.
"I-I'm just uncomfortable with strangers- I can't help it-" You quickly mumbled out, causing him to only smile more. Damn, he was like a whole sunshine in human form!
"You will not overcome it if you keep being like that~" Unknown for you, he turned his form to face you fully. "Mira aquí~" You did not understand what he said, but that made you look up in want to question what he meant by his last sentence, confused-
-when you were met with those gorgeous eyes, baring into you once again. Your own (e/c) orbs widened as you stared, speechless. The shade was even closer and without those glasses he still didn't put on, it made you able to examine those perfect eyes again - the way they gleamed in the sun and surely told, that he was not from your area. Damn, this male was effecting you too much.
Antonio himself found traced by you - you were so cute and simply beautiful, no wonder, he called you that most of the time. He found his tan cheeks slightly heating up as well as you stared into his eyes so intently. However, it also made him smile as he noticed the longer you stared, the little by little your cheeks returned to a normal blush color.
The male reached and poked your cheek playfully, "There~ You are getting used to me~" The moment he did that, your face busted with warmth and you squeaked out, hiding your face in your hands.
Antonio sweat-dropped at the action. Or maybe not.. Although, he caught something strange on your hands as his face pulled into a frown. Is that..? He quickly put his glasses on and took a hold of both of your hands, pulling them to him. The action made you startled as you looked at him, a bit afraid of the strength he used but the moment you saw him gasp at your palms, realization pulled over - you completely forgot about your scrapped palms.
"____! Why haven't you told, that you hurt your hands as well??" Antonio gave you a look, before letting go and searching up his briefcase. "You might get infection like that!" Now, it was your turn to sweat-drop.
"Uh, I.. forgot?" You seriously forgot you were even injured - only now did you remember you had aching knees and still bloody dried palms. You were amazed how this Spaniard got you distracted so easily.. and it only made your face heat up to abnormal color once again.
"Silly of you!" Antonio pouted at you as he started to do all of the process of cleaning, like he did with your knees. "At least these scratches are not so serious, so it will be enough to disinfect them and put on plasters on them." Your eyes widened in horror.
"Not that horrible thing again..!" Antonio gave an apologetic look as you bit on your lip. You didn't want to go through the whole hurting season again, but the trainee didn't give you a chance as he quickly pulled the tiny bottle out and sprayed the liquid on your hands, before you could curl them into fists.
This time curses spilled out of your mouth as you yet again groaned, hissed and bit your lip's skin, "W-Why didn't you warn me..!" You whined out, stretching your fingers at the stinging pain.
"It works better without warning~" The reply Antonio gave made you groan as he went to kneel before your knees again. "It looks they dried, time to apply the healing cream and bandage them up." That said, you watched him reach into the kit and pull out some unknown cream for you and bandages.
You felt.. sudden strange feeling in you. Like you didn't want for this meeting to end. You felt yourself open your mouth, but then you closed it. That's right. He promised, that after he helped you, he will be away from your sight. You totally forgot, that it was only a moment's meeting. How stupid, to hope for something-
"Chica, something's wrong?" Antonio glanced up from applying the cream on your knees - gently, with smooth circle movements. You winced a bit, but you couldn't possibly tell, that you didn't want for him to go away. Your face was still heated, but on the inside, you already got used to him.
"I.. I just.." Looking around, you noticed your backpack. What made you tell the next, you didn't know, "..I want chocolate." Probably the returning hunger for it as you were ready to face-palm.
"Oh." Antonio gave a grin. "Wait just a bit, I will patch your palms and then you may munch on it!~" He replied happily as he busied himself with your knees.
"Easy to tell for you." You mumbled out, now seriously hungry for the goodie. Antonio rose his eyebrow in question. "Do you like chocolate that much?"
You looked back at him, "If my friends call me a chocoholic, then I guess, I do." Antonio looked at you amazed as you just gave a sheepish shrug.
But then he smiled, "Then, we should get this finished even more quicker, so you can enjoy it!~" With that, he looked back at your knees, his movements becoming more faster but no less unfocused.
It was fun, actually. First time you met a male, who you found attractive and maybe even liked, because of his attitude. He didn't mind your shy behavior, he didn't leave you be - even if he is a soon-to-be doctor, it's character, that actually makes one stop and help, not just his job. You two continued to chat more as he bandaged your knees and then patched your hands- It was really nice with him and you suddenly wished, you could meet him again.
"There, all bandaged and fine!~" Antonio gave the final verdict as he packed his briefcase. "Of course, you won't be able to walk normally for at least a week, but you wouldn't need to - my recommendation is to change bandages each day and stay in bed, for wounds to not open." He stood up from his seat near you and placed it onto his shoulder, adjusting the long stripe to it. "And of course, you will need to ask someone to bring you your loved goodie~" He chuckled.
You looked up at him, clenching and unclenching your palms and gave a nod. Though, panic arose in you at his final comment - if you end on chocolate and you will be in big need for it like today.. you will go out of your mind. You made a mental note to call for your friend and ask for them to bring more indeed-
"Should I help you to your home?" The sudden question made all of your thoughts on chocolate pop as you gave a surprised look at Antonio, who stood before you and offered a hand for you to get up.
"OH, no no..!" You quickly answered, waiving your hands. You saw his lips pull into a pout as you sighed, looking at your lap. "You have helped me so much already.. I don't want to trouble you more and I don't even know how to thank you.." You trailed off.
Antonio's pout quickly turned into a widened expression, "Hermosa, you are not trouble! And no need for anything, simple thanks of words will be enough and you already said that, many times today." He moved his hand. "Come, let me help you stand up and then, I will lead you home." He smiled that sincere and caring smile again as you looked up and grabbed his hand.
It made you confused but you did smile back at him- Until you stood up. Your face turned all pained as you almost put all your weight into Antonio's hand. Yep, he was right- It will be long, till you make it on your own to your home. You clutched your backpack over your shoulder with one hand as with other held onto the male's arm. He seemed to not mind the more weight on him - you felt his arm muscles tense and a blush crawled on your cheeks from feeling it.
Antonio blushed a bit as well as you two stepped slowly back onto the path - you were wincing but so close. Now, he found himself uncomfortable and shy by your presence as you seemed to cool off by now. "So, where do you-" A sudden loud melody cut through the air, making both of you stop as Antonio searched for his phone in his jeans pocket. "Uh-oh-" He let go off of you as he looked at the caller ID.
You steadied yourself as he answered the call, looking at him in question, before you saw the Spaniard jump and wince, pulling the phone away from his ear - someone was furiously yelling at him through it. You sweat-dropped lightly as Antonio tried talking back, but the speaker didn't give him any chance. The face of Spaniard was one of panicking, then frowning, then annoyed but in the end as the speaker finished the call, Antonio's eyes glared at his dark phone screen.
"Who was it, if I may I ask..?" You spoke out as he put his phone away. He sighed and then gave you a smile, his facial expression back to one of friendlier.
"It was the doctor I take practice at. I'm.." He scratched his head sheepishly. "..a bit late to work." Your eyes widened. By the yells, you guessed it was not just a bit.
"You should go then! Don't make him angry more at you!" You felt a sudden guilt feeling, for keeping him late.
"But hermosa! I need to help you home! Who knows, maybe you will fall again-" Despite being late, he was still willing to help. Who was this, a male from Heaven? He was surely overdoing it as you resisted to face-palm.
"I will be just fine!" You pulled at your backpack and unzipped it. "I got taken care by the best doctor I ever met." You smiled as you rumored through your bag, feeling sudden spark of butterflies inside you. "Here." You pulled out two chocolate bars for him as you smiled more. "This is all I got, but I assume you, these are the best brands. It's for thank you and sorry, to have kept you late." All Antonio could do was stare at you amazed. He felt proud, shy and happy at the same time - it made a slow grin rise on his face as he glanced down at your bag full of chocolates and the two you offered him.
"Hermosa.. you shouldn't-" You pushed the chocolates into his hands.
"No, I should! Give one for your co-worker - better that one, milk chocolate." You pointed at his right hand. "It's sweet and melts in your mouth right away, it will push the anger away. That one is with nuts." You pointed at his left hand. "Keep it for yourself. I feel, that plain chocolate is too simple for you, you need one, that has something in it. Nuts go well." Antonio stared at you, open mouthed.
"Chica, you are really a chocoholic!" You zipped you bag and put it back onto your shoulder, grinning more proudly now.
"I prefer gourmet~" Antonio returned the grin as he suddenly reached out and hugged you tightly, to which you gasped and winced - your knees and the tightness of his arms.
"Muchas gracias, chica!" He shouted as he let go, his sudden.. childish attitude showing. "I will eat those with pleasure!" His eyes sparkled as he added, "Though.. may I.. get your number?" He adjusted his glasses with one hand as the other held the chocolates, feeling a bit nervous, "To.. contact and see.. how are you?"
You were enough taken aback by the hug as you stumbled a bit from the sudden request, totally blown by it. Did he just really ask for your number? Of such a klutz, that is obsessive with chocolate? Heavens must have fallen down as you mumbled your number out and he dialed it into his phone.
"Gracias once again, hermosa!" He took a step away from you. "I must really run then, if you excuse me-" He waived for you and shouted, "Ojalá que tu tengas suerte en caminar a tu casa!" And he was off, dashing madly into the opposite direction.
You stood there for a moment, dumbfounded, your face slowly heating up. You did not understand what just happened, what he said and how all of this situation happened. As you slowly limped your way home, all you could think of was if this was not a dream and did chocolate just help you find a really nice guy, that looked like the godly chocolate itself..?
~*Extended ending*~
"Bloody Hell, Antonio, what took you so long?!" The British accent of Arthur rang through the halls as Antonio winces, giving his co-worker a little nervous smile.
"I helped a girl in need..?" Arthur gave him a look over, before whacking him on the head.
"Instead of spending time with females, get to work and give me your presentation about first-aid!" Antonio winced, rubbing his head, before showing one chocolate into Englishman's hands instead of the request.
"She got hurt, I just helped her, so you can count that as first-aid. She gave me this, as a thank you. Have one and calm your nerves, amigo." With that said, Antonio walked off, adjusting his robe and glasses.
Arthur stared at the chocolate bar surprised, before stuffing it in his robe's pocket and yelling, "Antonio, you bloody bastard, come back here!"
Chocolate is not just a sweet. Chocolate can help people connect by just simply sharing a bar together. Antonio patted his bar in his robe's pocket - he just found his connection, that were you, the cute chocoholic~
