"That room, although decorated with the same luxe of the rest of the palace, was smaller compared to the other rooms Ling had seen in last few days. However, he heard his mother before seeing her.

- ... for God's sake, Shui, don't make fun of me, ok? -Shu Lien was saying, when they crossed the threshold. Her voice was trembling-. Has been a long time! He won't even remember me. What if he sees me now and he dislikes how I am?

Her lament vanished suddenly when she heard the noise of the room's door closing, and turned promptly to the newcomers. The golden pendants decorating her elegant bun jingled like a bunch of little bells. And she stood there, stiffly, with her lips pursed and face of anguish, grasping her luxury robe with her hands turned into fists.

Ling only needed three seconds. He looked at her face and thought that was absurd. How could he forget her? No, he didn't... He rememberd her black eyes, narrow like his, but slightly larger. He remembered her mouth and the way it twisted. He remembered her making funny faces to amuse him. He remembered having stretched his hands to the pendants of her hair while she shook her head to make them tinkle, laughing. He even remembered her voice. The voice that had given life to such an old lullaby that sometimes crossed his mind without knowing why. He remembered it so clearly than his heart skipped a beat. And then he dropped Pei's hand.

- Mom!

Shu Lien wobbled when she saw the boy running to her. She tripped over her robe when tried to go to meet him and ended collapsing to her knees on the floor, but it didn't impeded her to open her arms with a dazzling smile and wrap her child in them when he reached her.

- Ling! -she exclaimed, her voice cracking with emotion, and hugged her son tightly against her chest-. Ling, my darling... I've missed you so much...

And he closed his eyes, smiling, and took a deep breath..."

Well. THIS.IS.MY.OPUS.MAGNUM.

I've spent 4 days in front of the computer doing this. Four days from morning to night, non-stop. At the end, my face looks this way -> Ò___Ó And I think I'm a bit more myopic now XD But it was worth, because I'm really proud of the result.

ES UNA ÑOÑERÍAAAAAA!!! XD But I like it anyway, LOL.

Don't ask me why I've done this. Actually, I don't know. I just NEEDED to do it. I've been thinking about the life of the emperor's concubines in the imperial harem. It must be very hard, don't be able to go out, to visit your family, to raise your own children... All of them live away from the world.

Since I'm an historian and feel special affection for the great oriental empires of the past, I just was unable to resist the temptation to write a story about it. And I enjoyed it very much! I've mixed elements of the Chinese Empire and Ottoman Empire to make a credible background for Xing. Too much effort, maybe. But I'm obsessed with this kind of things, LOL.

I'm really ill right now. I caught cold yesterday and my head feels so heavy. I cannot think properly in english, so sorry for misspellings... =____=

Arrggg, no puedo más, de vuelta al español...

He penado como una condenada haciendo esto, de verdad, nunca creí que me llevaría tanto tiempo. La vida de los dibujantes debe ser medio infernal. Quería que quedara lo mejor posible, porque es el comic más elavorado que he hecho hasta ahora, pero bueno... algunas viñetas son un pequeño desastre y las dos últimas me parecen un fail en toda regla. Sin embargo, sigo pensando que es mi obra maestra. Y aunque sea totalmente offtopic y medio mary-suesco, ¡ME DA IGUAL! XD Por Dios, qué bien me lo he pasado, haciendo el dibujo y escribiendo el oneshot
