That's just so cute, now that I've read the story. I had a rather large wolf spider name Fernando living with me for a while, but my cat ate him. It was very sad.
Good photo as well. Nice focusing, knowing the story helps. All in all, well done. ^_^

hmm well i personally don't get that close to spiders unless it's my shoe connecting with them...see spiders here are bigger uglier and hairier...not nice...but your spider looks cool!

This thing realy scares me . .. I don't like this middle sized spiders and the small ones, wlel I hate them . . . The hugh ones, well they're fine, I can see them so I know where they are and what they're doing but the small ones

Great shot! About the only spiders I could actually stand being around....caged at least....were tarantulas, which I cared for while working for the entomology department in the college that I attended. I even got nerve enough to pick one of them up....LOL. Otherwise, they kinda creep me out when they're loose in my room....

Spiders aren't one of my favorite critters. I get a bit jumpy if they get on me. I guess the tarantulas were more like small animals to me, so I took the chance of handling them....LOL. The entomology department at the University that I attended had 3 tarantulas while I worked for them in the summers between school sessions. The spiders had come into Fargo on banana shipments from Central America. I liked the entomology ok as a hobby, but not enough to make a profession of it, opting instead for a major in pharmacy. One of my younger sisters went on to major in entomology.

i'm terribly afraid of spiders, largely because i get bitten by them so often, and to top it off, am so very allergic to them...
but i find them fascinating, beautiful creatures... and despite their painful tendencies, find them to be a blessing in the house (they kill and eat many other insects which bit e me far more frequently) As well as superstitoius good luck...
I will not kill a spider, I go to great lengths to remove them if needed and gently place them in a more appropriate enviroment... unless... of course, they touch me... then they MUST DIE.
and violently, they broke the sacred covenant and must pay the price...
now that i have said that!
it really is a brilliant shot... i love the fact that a brief glimpse of the pic gives the imediate impression of irratated skin, it wasn't until i stopped and checked out full view that i noticed it was an apple... the colors and blends of the fruit are a surprisingly good contrast for the severity and sharpness of edges on the spider... all spiky and whatnot...
I also noticed that the shape of the spiders back end, as well as it's markings... are an echo of the apples markings... bold streak and dots...
i'm in love with this shot... well done.

Around here there there arn't any spiders that bite (unless they are import) so for me it is very diffrent, i just think they are amazing. But if they would bite me often,.. i wouldn't be so sure anymore!
This one is harmless, maybe you can switch spiders in ur house, put some of these in ur house, no more insects and no more spider bites!
An apple yes, it's way to scared to sit on anything human
