Description ⭐Universe: Dimension ⭐

The Aemlnare are a race of elves hailing from the lands of Faelrinus on the world of Vir.

Long ago the world of Vir was a primordial and barren world of elements presided over by its creator the elemental god Crimorius. Crimorius whos blood was water, his breath air, his flesh earth, and his fury fire. Ruling for untold millennia, one day Crimorius willingly scattered his life essence—sacrificing himself and giving birth to the spark of life that would allow Vir to bloom with life. It was from this scattered essence that were born the fae and alongside them was what would come to be known as the goddess Zala. These fae would go on to carry his life essence far and wide across Vir, sprinkling it upon the land and breathing vitality into the previously barren primordial lands. The lands flourished with life, lush forests burst forth, mighty rivers snaked through the terrain, towering mountains reached for the heavens, and creatures of all shapes and sizes came into existence.

Many races would come to inhabit the lands given life by Crimorius, and among these races were the Aemlnare. The aemlnare were the mortal descendants of fae and came to live in the vast wilds of Vir. These first elves were charged with the stewardship of nature at the request of the now goddess Zala with many coming to call the lands of Faelrinus home.

Though when Zala was eventually corrupted by the primordial evil Sadrass Zul, elves everywhere devoted and connected to the goddess were irrevocably corrupted into what would come to be known as the Narathi. Due to the importance of Zala to the Aemlnare, many were corrupted. Those that weren't however out of fear for both themselves and the natural world around them, ceased their worship of Zala. Instead focusing on their many other elven gods. However with the removal of Zala from their pantheon, the Aemlnare created Zashil—a false deity designed and depicted in the image of pre-corruption Zala and assigned her the very same sphere of influence over nature. She was by all accounts an alternate face and name of Zala for which to worship in an attempt to pay homage and avoid corruption. Due to their intense belief and worship, Zashil became manifest as a thought-form entity, eventually developing a divine spark from their worship and becoming a full-fledged god which took the place of Zala in their pantheon.

Their home, Faelrinus, is a land where nature reigns. The land is exceptionally beautiful, an overgrowth of lush vibrant forests and beautiful landscapes. All home to a myriad of creatures, beasts, and magics both natural and elemental. Here the Aemlnare live in tandem with nature itself and serve as the stewards of this natural realm, honoring the request of Zala before her corruption.

Aemlnare society is split into two very distinct groups. The aptly named Wild Elves and the more civilized and open-minded "City" Elves. Both groups revere nature in all its forms and share the same pantheon of gods, though couldn't be more different.

The wild elves are as the name suggests, wild. These aemlnare are tribalistic, often nomadic, and simplistic. They live as close to the land as possible, shunning most forms of civilization as they simply live in the land, making momentary homes in trees, caves, and other natural structures. They are not known to be possessive and often only own the clothes on their back—with some even going so far as to not even wear clothes. Some form tribes or small groups, while others are entirely solitary. Wild elves are often wary of outsiders especially those of other races, and the more extreme among them have been known to be outwardly hostile and even attack tresspassers in their lands. Most however are simply content to be among nature, and usually do not interact unless they or the land is threatened.

City elves on the other hand is a less commonly used term, likely coined by the wild elves to refer to those Aemlnare who can find comfort and exist in cities and villages—artificial things not created by nature. These elves are responsible for the building of great cities within the lands of Faelrinus, forming relationships and opening trade with other races, and are generally the most common of the two groups which can be found throughout the many lands and cities of Vir. Most rulers of Falerinus are of this societal group, such as the current prince Temerius. Cities, towns, and villages built are constructed usually of stone and naturally fallen trees, with trees and vines usually growing in and on the structures.

Both groups however both share practices such as techniques using in the forging of weapons and armor. Aemlnare have a very unique method of crafting weaponry, using nature magic to crystalize plant matter like leaves, stems, vines, etc. These crystalized materials are then forged through likely similar methods of nature magic combined with traditional techniques into weapons, armor, or anything else that is needed. The results are weapons and armor of the same if not better quality as steel, while retaining a notable lightness to them. Making armor forged in this method ideal for allowing one to stay light and unencumbered.

The aemlnare themselves are a race that can be easily identified by their green skin, which can come in various shades. Their hair is also green, though can sometimes deviate to red. Eyes are often green as well, though not uncommon are yellow and orange. Their eyes seemingly having a light glow to them, which hints at an innate connection to nature as well as a heightened sense of sight that allows them to see more easily at night. Interestingly due to their connection to nature Aemlnare sometimes develop unique features such as growing leaves in their hair, or having their hair actually being leaves, and even growing horns and antlers of a bony seemingly wood-like material.
