⭐Universe: Wastelands of Tthar ⭐

Snappers are one of the many neosapiens commonly found throughout Tthar's wastelands.

In line with the goal to preserve humanity in one form or another, the Caretakers created what would come to be known as Snappers. These odd and eccentric creatures are a mix of human DNA as well as numerous other pre-apocalypse and post-apocalypse species. Among these known DNA parents are canid, as well as in lesser amounts caprinae, and some form of rodent. Snappers get their name from their elongated large jaws filled with sharp teeth, which they are known to "snap" or click as a form of basic communication to other snappers. Most snappers have a humanoid body shape with a more bony canid head, however less common some are known to have tails and or more digitigrade feet. Features from less dominant DNA parents are also known to occasionally manifest in a more goat or rat-like head shape, and sometimes with horns.

Snappers are a highly resilient neo-sapien species capable of adapting to most hostile environments throughout Tthar with greater ease than most races. Their biology filters out toxins and repairs cellular damage caused by concentrated radiation, making them able to survive the poisonous fauna of the Murk, the toxic pollutants of the Scrapheap and Chemhole, and the heavy radiation present in the dry wastes.

Snapper society is tribal and simplistic, often nomadic hunter gatherers and scavengers and are notably eccentric in both culture and behavior. While known to engage in raiding snappers tend to gravitate more towards scavenging, and have a keen eye for picking apart and stripping areas of anything valuable especially anything shiny. Most snappers are often jittery, twitchy, and overly energetic. Snapper naming conventions are notably strange and amusing often come up with simplistic names based on their appearance, behavior, or deeds and usually repeat the same word multiple times in their names. Examples such as Snap-Snap, Zag-Zag, Silver Jaw, Rust-Spike, Bot-Bot, etc.

Possibly one of my favorite races in Tthar, though the AI gave some mixed results of varying accuracy and doesn't quite do them justice. They tend to be bald, jaws a bit bigger with more wild teeth, and also tend to be a bit less horrifying looking though still have that cool bony head. Definitely gonna have to try drawing these guys and gals to show a more accurate depiction.
