I love Rwby and Come on,.We all had some part of us that wished that Tyrian could had successfully captured Ruby and brinking her down to a defeated disgrace. Well, I think its just so that we can relate to JNPR team more and to their stories as well. Of course, RWBY and JNPR are practically the ones who take the screentime more than any other team or characters for that matter. Badass characters like Coco and her team had like just three, four scenes, and those were in action times only lol

That moment when he had to admit his failure to Salem and you feel a little pity for him makes you feel this might've been enough to allow him to manage at least.
The moment after when he brutalizes a Grimm laughing maniacally and you realize you want to hug that little girl and take her as far away from him as possible.

Plus the part at the end that implies if Ruby had been brought before Salem, she would have tossed her and Cinder to incinerate.
