As you have probably guessed, I adore the beauty of horse's head.This PAINting took me WAY longer than planned. I was like: "Hey! Let's do this in the new simplified style!" But it looked so wrong I continued changing it until it ended up like this. This has been a 6 days' tournament.
And btw this is Qui, the goddess of lust and passion :3

I use Photoshop. The brush is set to have smoothing, no spacing, shape dynamics on pressure, and I usually use lower opacity, like around 90%.
The magic depends on how you show the shapes, angles and overlapping. Most people cage them using lines. You have to get rid of them and show the change between muscles as a different color/darkness at the transition point.
