What an amazing shot. I love how you can see the faces of each larva.

Loved it before I saw you used a Sony...but now I really love it!! Especially cause your rockin the A390! I got the A550 and its got macro features like "check mf" and I dont even think I could pull this off...at least not with that much detail! Did you use a tripod for this shot and did you do any post editing? Im just curious....

Hi! Been thinking of getting the A580 or A550 too due to its high ISO capabilities, but won't be until I have the budget... hehehe... Anyways, the shot above was taken in RAW. Post-processed with the following changes: Exposure increased to 0.25, a tint of fill light, structure to 100, a bit of contrast change, and cropped to frame as desired. By the way, shot was taken with a true macro lens - gives a lot of leeway for cropping compared to those non-true macro lens...

Awesome job!! Love it...yea I dont think I have a "true" macro lens, I mainly use my Minolta 75-300mm lens for macro shots but since I dont have a tripod anymore I havent been doing a lot of macro stuff although sometime I try anyways

Mind if I ask what other lens you have in your arsenal?

Not many right now...I just had to move so I had to sell most of em. All I use now is my Minolta 75-300 and my stock 18-55 kit lens that it came with...I also use a fisheye adapter on the 18-55mm though sometimes which makes it a lot more fun to use I am a big fan of the Minolta lenses though, they are cheap and awesome to play around with...cant go wrong!

Minolta lenses have awesome colors too!

Move? To a different system?

No...moved states and I needed money fast to help fund it but yea I love how saturated the colours are with all of the Minolta lenses I have used....they are just great all around lenses....fast, sharp, vivid and most importantly cheap! Haha Perfect for me...at least until I can afford some Zeiss glass one day...

All the grubs all tucked in nicely! ^_^
Amazing detail in the eyes! Almost leopard like. Such incredible detail and adaptions for something so tiny...
