I haven't been drawing lately (again) because busy IRL. The second semester starts on Monday so I'll be even busier; also I'm studying/training on traditional animation so... less free time. I mostly used brush modes instead of layer modes on this one.

Subject: Y'shtola

--- SPOILERS BELOW THIS LINE ---

After using Flow, an ancient, emergency-situation (probably instant) version of Teleport, to attempt to save herself and Thancred, Y'shtola was unable to get out of the Lifestream of Eorzea. The Warrior of Light and friends asked for the help of the Padjal and their ever-PMSing elementals to pull her out of the Lifestream. Probably unnoticed by most (except yours truly and Y'shtola's mentor Matoya), the Miqo'te scholar had gone blind. Y'shtola is now able to see things by "seeing" aether, and Matoya remarked that it will take a toll on her life(force). That is probably just one of the side effects of being, you know, part of the massive energy that keeps the world alive. I look forward to seeing her do more kick-ass things (she deflected bullets back in 2.0, shielded the whole useless bunch from a direct attack near the end of 2.5 and the 3.1 trailer shows her blocking a blade with her bare hands)... I don't look forward to seeing her get absorbed by the Lifestream.
