Description I am give the halo armor a break, and start Mandalorian armor set. I am attempting to give it a stealth bomber look. I a Treky at heart, but I've been reading up the Back story of the Mandalorian culture and found to be very interesting.... also the Mando Merc costume group made a stop a local Monster Con. If it turns out good unlike  my halo armor I going to try and apply to the mando group.

Do you have a template for this armor or willing to hook me up with your dimensions of the armor? I really like the look of it.

The template is is based on the original mandalorian armor. Here is were I got mine:

www.thedentedhelmet.com/f28/up…

This person labeled it based on how tall you are. I am 5' 10", so I used the template for my size and it worked well. Than after printing and cutting out pieces on paper I traced them on to cardboard. After that, I drew the lines on top of each peace of armor were I cut only the first layer of the corrugated cardboard. When you bend the cardboard after cutting, it "brakes" away to a nice folded edge.

hope that helps!

Neat so far.  What's the helmet made of?

the base form is made from card board and paper mache, than covered with a compound I came up with. That compound consist of toilet paper, joint compound and Elmer glue. I am experimenting with the formula because I live in apartment complex and I have already had neighbors complain about the smell of fiber glass resin on my porch. That's, main reason why I stopped work on my halo armor.
this is a very sturdy formula and an alternate to Bondo, and sands very well.
my compound is this formula:

  • One role of cheep toilet paper (measure the wet paper pulp, and use 1 1/4 cups – some rolls contain more paper than needed)
  • 1 cup Joint Compound from the hardware store (get “regular,” not “fast set” or “light”.)
  • 3/4 cup Elmers glue( PVA glue)
the original formula came from here: www.ultimatepapermache.com/pap…
I did not pute the flour and linseed oil in, because flour rots and linseed oil is semi - toxic.
