Serenity had Artemis when she was 48 years of age

Serenity gave birth one year after Elric.

And it came as a complete surprise to everyone.

Serenity had not known as was with child.

There were no signs, nor did she show.

Serenity was in her gardens, drinking wine under the light of three moons, when she felt a sharp pain...

The former adventurer was use to being in pain, the scars all over her body was proof of this- but this felt oddly familiar.

Serenity rose up and started making her way to the palace, she suddenly collapsed to the ground and called for her maids, they helped her the best they could. However, Serenity being a giant to them all, they could only aid her so much.

She leaned her back against a tree and pulled up her night dress. Blood was everywhere and a maid screamed.

Something was wrong and Serenity got to her knees and kneeing, she reached down.

The child's skin was a purple colour, the cord was wrapped around her neck.

Serenity grabbed her dagger from its hidden place and quickly cut at the cord while holding the small babe in one hand.

Once free, Serenity moved the child's neck back and breathed into it, pushing at her tiny chest, willing the heart to beat.

The colour returned and Serenity stops.

A cry.

It was barely there but Serenity heard it.

Serenity burst into tears. Big warm tears poured down her cheeks, hitting the child's own cheek, merging with the small tears.

Up until that moment, Serenity had cut off her emotions. Not wanting to feel the pain of losing her child.

But she did not and now only joy and relief filled her.

Artemis was much smaller than her older brothers and needed a bit more care.

When she got past her first year, she was a normal healthy baby.

It was also very clear who's daughter she was.

<><><>

Soft purple hair that grew fast. Up turned crescent moon shaped in her eyes, her eyes were a mix of blue, purples, pinks and reds.
They were always moving with every blink; it reminded Serenity of how water and oil did not mix.

And she was a weirdo, a witch.

The babe had not a single freckle, much to Serenity's delight.
She did not want her to grow up bullied by the court ladies like she had.

The king knew that his first queen had taken her lover to her bed, he allowed Artemis to be raised with her mother.

And with how the child was born, he knew that Serenity would not leave her daughter with others.

Serenity had an active role in all her children's upbringing, not allowed nannies to care for them.

On top of Serenity's royal duties, continuing with her strange breeding project and her hidden plot, she had a lot to do.
