Oh man, I know exactly what you mean! Since it's a flat color commission example, I assume the goal is to keep things quick. I used to do flat colored commissions, and you are adding quite a lot more detail than I did! I kept the colors light and only added a bit of blush and shine on places, haha! I suppose the best thing to do, if you want to save time, is just to make sure you focus on the areas that a person looks at first, like the face, for example, and if you have some spare time, go from there. But this looks really good, and if you can get it done quickly enough to make it worthwhile, than that's even more rad!

Gorgeous work as always; love the colors n bits of carapace, though you might wanna thicken the lines on the chains closest to the viewer; it's really obvious that the chains are a photoshop brush
