Description
Sinosauropteryx is an often overlooked but very important dinosaur genus in the history of palaeontology: it was the first non-avian dinosaur to be discovered with preserved feathers! This metre-long relative of the more famous Compsognathus (which you may know from The Lost World: Jurassic Park) was found in the rocks of the Yixian Formation of Liaoning, China, and is one of many exceptionally preserved dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals to be recovered from these rocks. It’s also one of the very few dinosaurs we actually know the colours of due to analysis of the pigments of its fossilised feathers! I hope you guys like this!
