Name: Gorgon

Powers: Gorgon can exhale a brilliant purple-tinted flash of energy from his mouth called a Paralysis Blast. The blasts, fireball-like in nature, pack some concussive force, but are generally harmless. However, the blast numbs and locks up muscles. For examples, if a blast hit Godzilla in the arm, the muscles in his arm would tighten and lock up, and he would temporarily lose the ability to move the arm.

Abilities: Possessing large, bat-like wings, Gorgon is capable of taking to the air and flying at great speed.
Gorgon's long, snake-like body allows him to wrap around foes and constrict them.
The spines on the sides of Gorgon's neck can suddenly stand up straight, raising a membranous frill similar to a cobra's hood. The frill is usually extended when Gorgon is angry or preparing to fire a paralysis blast.
The club on Gorgon's tail also serves as a rattle, which he uses similarly to a rattlesnake. It's primary function is intimidation.
Gorgon's plated hide is thick and hard to cut or pierce.

Description: Gorgon is a cruel, malicious monster. He sees other monsters as a food source, irregardless of their size or power, and preys on them without mercy or remorse. To him they are simply meals on legs. Occasionally Gorgon will play with his meal, taunting and tormenting his battered foe when he has the upper hand. Gorgon typically ends a fight by immobilizing his foe with repeated paralysis blasts and then constricting them to death in their helpless state.

Weaknesses: Though massive in length and wingspan, Gorgon is a lightly built monster. Kaiju with great brute strength could easily lift or throw Gorgon. Unfortunately the same cannot be said when he is coiling around a foe- like any other serpent, Gorgon is almost entirely muscle, and his reptilian grip is nearly unbreakable. Another weakness is his wings- if his flight membranes were to be badly damaged, Gorgon would be grounded until the wound heals, which could take weeks. However, it should be noted that Gorgon is just as dangerous on the ground as he is in the air.

Origin: Gorgon is quite the enigma- no one knows where Gorgon came from or how he came into existence. It's interesting to note, though, that Gorgon first appeared in 2012, the year in which the Mayan calendar predicts the world will come to an end. Many believe that Gorgon is somehow linked to the prophecy, and that he was destined to bring the apocolypse onto mankind. Others have taken it so far as to say that Gorgon may even be the mesoamerican serpent god Quetzalcoatl, returned to punish humanity. True or not, these unproven theories have caused a great deal of panic since Gorgon's arrival, bringing on mass hysteria and overwhelming fears of the end of the world.
