Daniel, I know you may be sick of rendering fish and such, but I'm a HUGE fan of your marine life illustrations. They're hella stunning. When I come across them, I'm always like "how he do dat??"
Now when I refer to someone as a manatee, I'll tell them it's actually a compliment and refer them to this beautiful piece!
Peace.

Ha, it's really neat how you switch up the type of things you draw completely.
I also just finished watching Ponyo recently , so this is a plus.

yeah, the ability to switch comes from having the steady illustration job making sure I can produce work as bland as possible on the side.

Life seems to happen to the best of us. Can't always predict what demands you'll have on your time, but I have a sneaking suspicion that awesome thanks await you.
That's a great looking manatee. They really are wonderful peaceful animals, if only they were a bit more adept at dodging speed boats.

this is great! Everyone loves a manatee. Are you having fun when you make these Sea Grant artworks? It looks like you are, or at least it seems like it would be fun to get to paint these cool mammals and fish and such.
Superb work as always bro!

Eric! thanks so much. I think I got past the point of it being fun and am slowly transitioning in the the phase where it's work and it becomes time away from my comics and it sort of drain the soul, heheh. But, every once in a while, something like this comes up and I get to enjoy painting and rendering and get a sort of peace-of-mind out of it.

Ah, yes, it stinks when that happens. But yeah, beyond the draining phase, there is also the zen moments of just feeling good about sitting down and making steady progress on some work. I'm glad you can have some peace at least!
