A beautifully composed image, Denis.

The old man makes an impressive subject.

Thank you!
He was not exactly in a mood for taking pictures, so I had to mislead him.

Great perspective, the position of the subject is spot on, and the steps lead you into the photo. Your tones are fantastic. Nice job!

Thank you so much for this!
I am suffering torment with tones, and I am never satisfied.

Your welcome. I personally think your doing fine. We are our own worse critics.

I suffer in the tone department and recently got a polarizing filter in hopes that it might help cut some glare. Living in a high desert area with not a lot to absorb light, mostly reflect it, makes it a challenge to bring out details in the shadows, and still have a visible sky.

Keep up the great work, and being one of my inspirations here at DA.

This is interesting. I live in aria of pannonian loess plain, and in a microregion of geographical depression. The atmosphere here is also unsuitable for photography because I hardly generate enough tones (everything is gray). This is particularly evident in relation to area near Adriatic sea (where I was born).

We have much in common. I just looked up 'pannonian loess plain' and it is very similar to where I live, The Great Basin.
Winters here can be very gray, lucky for me I can spend that time fishing with my brothers. Pyramid lake Nevada is also a wonderful place for Photos. So I take Photos when the fish aren't biting.

My best memories are from fishing on the sea with my father and his friends from the countryside. It was a time when the traditional life in Dalmatia (where I lived as a child) still existed (like in movies and photos of Italian Neorealism), but at that time I have not had a camera.

Šibenik - najljepši grad u Dalmaciji..

Jel' da, jel' da? To i ja odavno govorim. I nekako još uvijek uspijeva zadržati autentičnost življenja, unatoč turizmu. Šibenik, ustvari, doživljavam kao jedini tipičan dalmatinski grad.

This is it, framing is much more interesting.

Disagree.

How can a black frame make something more interesting? The image is the interesting thing, surely...?

I didn't mean the black line around the picture. I meant the cropping.

I know dear friend. Everything is here more interesting. Even the town is different.
But, I am still learning.
