Ugh, it is a complicated issue. I think that only my eyes had become a bit more able to notice the tonal differentiation. But precisely because I like fewer and fewer of my photos. Hence only my dissatisfaction grows. As the author "celluloide" said, the composition (frame) is base and most important. But light is one that tells the story in photography. In my opinion, a digital chip is not friend with the light, because the chip forces the light to tell the story completely wrong.

hmmm! so the struggle continues...i can be sympathetic with your feeling of dissatisfaction, i am far too frequently unhappy with my final results, especial with concepts that fail to meet the arrangement. i upgraded my body and find the new sensors are so sensitive, there is always more to the story than expected! i postprocess to death trying to reveal any hidden story that was captured, instead of the concept that was intended. if it is any consellation, i still think you are winning your battle, your lastest work is proof. keep it up my friend!

I somehow feel a bit relief when I hear from someone that he/she has similar problems with photography. Because, sometimes I have a feeling that it is only me who don't know that secret which all the photographic world knows.
