Oregon's largest wolf pack and only known breeding pair.

So I'm missing like what? Six members of the pack? I decided to only draw four to make the picture more simple.

Final Edit: The kill order has been called off for the rest of the year while Wildlife Services conducts an analysis of the impacts killing two wolves will have on Oregon's fragile wolf population.

Also, the Alpha male is still missing. It seems that he was killed and his collar destroyed. Sophie, the alpha female, had atleast four pups this year. Since the pack has around 13 members, the pups have a good chance of surviving even without their father.

Edit2: Four conservation groups have filed lawsuits against Wildlife Services and the ODFW for violating Oregon's Wolf Management Plan by allowing permits to kill wolves before all non-lethal methods were tried.

Edit: They extended the hunt again >< This time it won't end until August 31st

Wolves in Oregon are extremely endangered. We only have 14 known wolves statewide. I was inspired to draw this picture after the recent news that ODFW is trying to gun down two yearling pups from this pack of only ten wolves because of livestock depredation. The depredation happened after a wildlife official was hired to haze elk out of the area so that livestock could graze there instead. ODFW has extended the kill order twice this month since it was made even though there hasn't been any depredation on livestock since the 4th of June. On top of all of that, the alpha male has been missing since May 31st. Either his collar stopped working or he was killed by some idiot.

The wolves in this picture are "B-300" aka Sophie (the lighter adult), her mate (the black adult) and two of her pups from last year. To see pictures of these wolves, go to [link]

Besides the sad news about what is happening to the pack, I think I did pretty good on this picture (:
