Description Render of the actual Airbus A380 involved as Qantas Flight 32 after suffering an uncontained engine failure on November 4, 2010.

The super jumbo was on its way from Heathrow International in London to Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport in Sydney Australia but not before making a stopover at Changi Airport, Singapore. As the plane flew over Batam Island, Indonesia, its No.2 Rolls Royce Engine suffered an uncontained engine failure, causing shrapnel to puncture part of the wing and damaged the fuel system, causing leaks and a fuel-tank fire, disabled one hydraulic system and antilock braking system, caused the number-one and number-four engines to go into a "degraded" mode, and damaged landing flaps and the controls for the outer left number-one engine. The plane was still controllable and the pilots make a successful emergency landing after returning to Changi Airport.

Onboard Flight 32 were 440 passengers and 29 crew members, all of who survive the ordeal. The incident of Qantas Flight 32 remains as the first accident involving an Airbus A380.
