I've been playing Sylvari, and I find it one of the most unique races ever created. Plant-people have been around for awhile, but this is the first time people managed to make them a real combination between plant and humans. Usually, if someone makes a plant-person, it is almost either limited to a human with some green skin and some leaves/flowers in their hair. Or they look like Ents and have little human qualities. These Sylvari are like human bodies, build layer for layer like a plant. Hair are leaves truely growin out of them, skin texture is as well as made from leaf, mimicking muscle texture, or bark.
I play a Sylvari engineer, plainly because the concept of a mechanic being totally opposite from a plant.

Well if you like the sylvari, you might like some of the art from the Spiderwick Chronicles. There are some really nice flower fairies that I thought were a great combination of human and plant, similar to the Sylvari.
I know a lot of people are going for a sylvari engineer, but I don't really think they are opposites. The sylvari are so curious that it actually makes sense they'd be interested in technology.
