The upper half is executed well enough, I especially like the face and hair, but it took me quite a while to figure out the lower half. It kept looking like the character had one normal leg and some weird reversed skeletal horse leg without a foot, fading into fog, for a while - until it finally clicked to me that the calf of the 'horse leg' is actually a shadow. I think if the shadow wasn't the same darkness as the far leg it would be more immediately readable that the shadow is not a solid structure. Currently there is very little visual separation between the leg and its shadow. This might be particularly important due to the more unconventional posing.

I enjoy that there is a strong sense of lighting from this. I see a lot of great concept work, but not usually so much nice lighting detail.
