I don't see how a bigass pistol round would kick enough to be hard for an infantry man to use, especially with the AR/M16/M4's recoil compensation, namely the buffer tube(clearly shown).

What about using it to kill up some aliens on their own planet. The guns end up being more valuable than the soldiers...

Ah a good question, the gun is chained to the exoskeleton. If the chain is broken then the gun is unable to fire.

Do they send teams out to retrieve the weapons?
Also, would a cyborg be able to fire one easier?

If the exoskeleton soldier got killed in the fight and the chain is broken, the other exoskeleton soldier runs out of ammo and can hook up the dead soldier's rifle to his armor and it would function again. It's unnecessary to send out teams to retrieve the weapons.
No, it would not be easier for the cybrog to fire the weapon because it requires thermal heat from the soldier's hands to make the gun know that it's in the right hands of a human soldier in a 2 ton exoskeleton.

Exoskeleton is 12 feet tall and weighting 2 tons, it can go over 10mph on running speed.
