So... this is Can You Hear Me for the 100 themey thingy (I decided to copy darkmoon3636 and do it, see?).He coughs, is ignored and throws a scranny. The timing isn't great but when was it ever? Besides I quite like how quickly and violently he gets annoyed. Originally he'd cough and then use like a megaphone but I couldn't pixellate one to my liking so I cut it
I've decided to try not having mouths, I started emoticoning and they always had them. Recently I've gone to what seems the standard, only having them when they're used but now I wanna try not even having them then (this kinda makes conversations hard but ah well) there was some pompous reasoning behind it but really I just don't like doing em

absolut nice concept, i think it would be better if he have a mouth, but if you know what you mean you can recognize it really good. nice work

Tis pretty cool idea bout the mouths, after all.. "What use is a phone, when you can't speak? Mr Anderson!" I think its a pretty well done concept for the "Can you hear me" one. I especially like the minor tantrum he throws
Not totally liking the shading though, it appears as though you've shaded by hand, but haven't gone for the circular effect and just worked from the outside in, linear style. Leaves you with those ugly lookin crosses across your dudes. Looks odd because it gives the eye some purchase on the shading and you lose the sence of sphericalness (Is that even a word?!)

I see what you mean about the shading, I've been attempting to try new styles but I'm not good at thinking of new styles I used this once and fluked a good shine but it hasn't really worked since then.
What I actually did was put a light cross pretty central and worked out from there, I just gave it a longer horizontal axis than vertical. Stupid for a circle I know but ah well.
Any suggestions? Cos I see all this kick-butt shading about and can't emulate it.

Yeah, now you mention it, I can see how you've done that. =darkmoon3636 pretty much has created the definitive handshading tutorial (at [link] ) She's like the goddess of pixel shading!
I've started to try my hand at recreating life like objects in a pixel art format, its really teaching me a few things about what works and what doesn't. Maybe give that ago. Mind you, you're probably not as weird as me, might not be up your street
