Here And Queer_
In “The Queer Edge” project, I wrote a song (or two) about me and my mother. This time around, somehow when writing, I ended up with a song that’s more about my father. I never intended for it, I was just trying to write a positive statement of the coming out process etcetera. During the production process of this project, I read the song to my mother - and she subsequently broke down. Completely unintentional, I didn’t even think this song was harsh or destructive. So maybe this song is a good song for people to hear/read and appreciate gay men more…
I make statements about being sorry, and I don’t want people to mistake it as an apology for being homosexual, it’s more of an apology for not living up to our parent’s dreams. Sometimes, you can feel like you let them down - even though you’re very comfortable of your sexuality…
