This drawing's stayed with me for a very long time. I think it's become one of those strange creatures you meet at some point that stay by your side for life.
I feel the same way about most of your drawings... There's always the same savage contrast between the black and white, which roils underneath all elegance and control in every swoop of the lines. At a glance, it looks like a piece of art. The longer you look, the more your eyes rove over every detail like they're on a train track, dragging them into the centre and the root of it. Your drawings have motion in the same way that snakes move, full-body glide and coil.
And in this one particularly... There's all this intricacy, whether it's in the feathery adornments, the scales, the chains-- even the chains are split by tiny little mouths full of teeth-- seasoned with these fat drippings of blood and gore, and you see everything coming apart, even him, even his arms, with his skin and sinew dissolving soundlessly, and weirdly all you want to do is seize wet handfuls and pull it all apart.
You welcome so much ugliness and violence into these silent, delicate, intimate drawings. And when so much detail could divorce us of any real sensation-- your drawings are always visceral, beating, breathing, and real. I can always taste them caught in my teeth.
I hope it's not uncomfortable for me to pop in and comment on an older drawing like this. I would've liked to be more capable of expressing the sentiment when it was posted. But- the same goes for everything you do. Your work is never far from my mind.

Following your art pieces since I find you here has always resembled me something, but I didn't realized what it was until now. It looks kinda similar to the art-nouveau style, but with a brutal feeling in it. I don't know which feeling exactly, but is pretty strong and heartening, sometimes. I wotnder if you can keep getting better and better; even more, I mean.

On one end, I'm MARVELING over the incredible detail in the picture, as well as how fucking GORGEOUS it is.
Then I'm wanting to cry over how heartbreaking the image is, and how shouldnotbeignoredgoddamnit he needs a hug.
