Trying out another style with my wacom. This one is a little more rough and painterly, I guess. I'm practicing with this thing so that in the event that I actually feel creative, I can jump right in.The woman in the pic is the vocalist from one of my favorite bands, Lamb. The lyrics are from their song called "Here." I did reference a photo, which can be found here: [link] Yes, I'm very bad at inspiring myself. Sorry.
Anyway, I like the painted part, but I'm not sure about all the text. It didn't really come out as I had planned. Maybe I should have used my own handwriting. Oh well.

I love the soft and mellow mood of this picture. I could put so many words in this box but none of them would be placed well enough to describe how well this is done.
I also believe that the sketchiness adds something.

You know - I really like these pieces more. The anime stuff is well done, but there is a lot more menace and mood to your painted pics (even your speed paintings).

cool, very impressionist! the lighting is superb, makes her pose look very epic and surreal. I especially like how you did the shading/colouring on the hands, although I feel a smoother brushing on the arms would look better. nice work with the lettering

That is some awesome handwork. Her hands are very real looking. LIke all of her is real looking but most people mess up on the hands.

Still good, even if you did have to reference. How do you like the Wacom by the way? I'm using an Aiptek, well, not using it. Its just too annoying and studdery for me. Its good for painting I guess, but I can't do line art with it worth crap. Like the piece.

i love this, and i love Lamb. the use of non-local colors and the painterly feel is awesome.. the pose is perfect since it creates a sense of action rather than a posed picture.. great work!

That is very cool. I like that look, the "painty" look. The shading is really well done as well as the colors. The pose is good, heck the whole thing is good. Really nice touch on the lyrics in the background. A really solid piece.
