There's something at once ominous and beautiful about this piece. It's an interesting contrast given the obvious ship-girl theme of the piece and yet despite the rather silly subject matter the impact of the piece as a whole is not at all dampened.
Between the subdued colors used and the character's seemingly gentle resignation with her eagle companion as storm clouds gather on the horizon it all speaks to a great tension building up that is set to be released to shatter the tranquility before the storm. The subtlety of that feeling is quite impressively conveyed in a manner that isn't always successfully executed by many artists when attempting to build up the sense of ominous foreboding but it is quite well executed here.

I just got around to crtiquing their material as I quite enjoy giving feedback.

Well then you probably know about Gen: Lock, their new show about Mecha with a TON of famous actors in it. But seriously if you've actually watched the recent episodes? Then some of those pieces actually take on a whole new meaning.

I've not watched any RWBY since that first episode of season 4 like I said and I have never heard of Gen: Lock I'm afraid.

Gen:Lock is a new show that RT is releasing this month, it's a mecha show based around a war int he future. They got some real talent behind it. Michel B Jordan, David Tennant, Dakota Fanning, Maisie Willaims, it looks very interesting.

Quite a rarity. The woman reminds me of Weiss in so many ways while the weapon on her side throws me another direction. the eagle does the same to me too, and my first impression is quite ecstatic. I especially like her long coat tails. It resembles a cape in my opinion. A cape waving in the wind either showing individuality and/or morality of the character. though i feel that the hat could match the coat, but it isn't affecting the over all image so white fits too especially with her under shirt. 10/10 is my overall rating. Please draw more ~!

The background has all the quality of an impressionist landscape, and the lighting on the subject reflected by the color coming in from the top left casts the whole piece in a slightly moody atmosphere, which I love. I also love the way you did her hair and the eagle's feathers, and how the individual strands and plumage each vaguely blend together into wispy tresses that seem to mirror one another. There's a lack of shading in her legs that makes some of the details look a little flat, and I can't help but notice the uneven line between the toe and heel of her raised boot. It's a minor detail, however, and overall, this piece honestly leaves me breathless. Amazing work.

I can't believe that after all the times I saw this artwork on the AL loading screen, I never realised it was by the same artist as the Future RWBY artworks that have been in my wallpapers slideshow for 3-4 years. Enterprise in this image has a similar gravitas to Ruby Rose in her future envisioning, which makes complete sense now ^_^
